It is an FA Cup quarter-final weekend and we take a look at all 4 fixtures from a betting angle.
SATURDAY MATCHES
Bournemouth v Southampton – Click here to bet
Bournemouth are the only non-premier league side left in the competition and they got to the last 8 beating Burnley 2-0 on the road in the last 16. Their recent league form has been inconsistent but they did beat Swansea 3-0 at home in their last Championship start.
Southampton have reached this point with home wins over Shrewsbury and Arsenal and they then travelled to Wolves in the last 16 winning 2-0. They are struggling in the league with just 1 win in their last 8 starts.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 47/20
Bournemouth look to be meeting Southampton at just the right time and must have a chance of victory although I think the value lies in the draw.
Everton v Manchester City – Click here to bet
Everton have had it tough on the way to the quarters requiring extra time to beat Tottenham in the last 16 and they also needed extra time to get through the 3rd round. They have hit a wobble in the league losing their last 2 matches.
City have cruised through the previous rounds scoring 3 goals in each of their matches.
Suggested Bet: Both Teams to Score YES at 19/20
I expect City to win this but feel they are too short to back even on the -1 handicap. Everton will throw everything at them and I fancy both teams to find the back of the net.
SUNDAY MATCHES
Chelsea v Sheffield United – Click here to bet
Chelsea booked their spot in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 away win at Barnsley and prior to that they had few problems seeing off Luton and Morecambe at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s last defeat in all competitions came back in January and they beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the Champions League in midweek to seal their spot in the quarter-finals.
Sheffield United will be heading out of the English Premier League at the end of the season so this FA Cup is all they have to play for at the moment. They beat Bristol City 1-0 in the last 16, Plymouth 2-1 at home in the round of 32 and in their 3rd round encounter they beat Bristol Rovers 3-2 on the road.
Suggested Bet: Correct Score Chelsea 2, Sheffield United 0 at 9/2
Chelsea should be too strong for Sheffield United but I am not sure they will run away with the game given their midweek exertions and just getting the win will probably be enough for their manager.
Leicester v Manchester United – Click here to bet
Leicester beat Brighton 1-0 at home in the last round and prior to that had away wins over Brentford and Stoke. They have righted their League form after a wobbly run and have had back-to-back wins at home against Sheffield United and away at Brighton.
United required extra time to beat West Ham at Old Trafford in the last 16 and prior to that they had beaten Liverpool 3-2 at home and Watford 1-0 also at home. United beat AC Milan in the Europa League in Italy in midweek and their last defeat came back on the 27th of January.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 15/20
I am expecting a first-half goal here that will really open things up for what I am hoping will be an entertaining and high scoring fixture.
