F1 returns this weekend for the second race of the year which will take place at the Shanghai International Circuit in China. This week will also see a sprint format where extra points are up for grabs for the drivers and teams.
We will look at this week’s race from a betting angle and share some suggested plays for consideration.
DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
After a solid start to the season last weekend and his first win of the season, Lando Norris leads the Drivers Championship followed by Max Verstappen in second and George Russell in third.
This impressive win has put Lando as favourite to win the Championship, trading at 1.70. Verstappen is trading at 5.00 while McLarens other driver, Oscar Piastri is trading at 5.50.

CONSTRUCTORS CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Both McLaren and Mercedes came out of the first race with 27 points each while Red Bull only manged to secure 18 and Ferrari 5.
McLaren are favourites to win the Constructors Championship and are trading at 1.35 while Ferrari are trading at 4.00. The bookies currently have Red Bull at 13.00 and Mercedes at 26.00.

CHINESE GRAND PRIX 2024
Last years race saw Verstappen continue his dominance of the early season with a win. Norris finished in second while Sergio Perez came third.
The Shanghai International Circuit is 5.45 kilometres long and features one of the longest straights on the calendar of 1.2 kilometres and it is hard to look past the battle between Red Bull and Ferrari for supremacy.

George Russell had a solid start to his season, finishing on the podium in the first race. His teammate Antonelli managed to finish in fourth right behind him and so showing that Mercedes has a faster car this year than some might expect. With all the noise of McLaren, Verstappen and Ferrari going on in the F1 world , Russell can slip under the radar and keep on grabbing podium spots.
