BettingDiaryThe Hungaroring is the venue for this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix where Max Verstappen will be looking to continue his march towards defending his title.

Charles Leclerc dominated the early proceedings of the French Grand Prix last week qualifying 1st and racing into the lead, but he unfortunately lost control of his vehicle to crash out leaving Max Verstappen to race clear for the victory and extend his title lead to 63 points. Lewis Hamilton got his best result of the season with a 2nd place finish with his Mercedes teammate, George Russell completing the podium.

Verstappen has almost put the Drivers Championship to bed now and is 1/5 to win the title with Leclerc 4/1 and Hamilton on offer at 40/1.

Last year’s Hungarian Grand Prix took place in heavy rain and threw up some unusual results. Lewis Hamilton qualified first on the grid, but he could only finish 2nd behind Esteban Ocon who caused the upset of the season. Carlos Sainz Junior was 3rd in his Ferrari and Max Verstappen was a distant 9th.

There is expected to be some rain for Saturday’s qualifying, but other than that conditions this weekend should be dry and we should get a true run race.

SELECTIONS:

Charles Leclerc win at 14/10

Leclerc took full responsibility for his crash in France and he will no doubt be looking to make amends. The Ferrari does seem to have the edge on the Red Bull in terms of pace at the moment and I am hoping that Leclerc can edge his way back into the title race.

Points Finish, Sebastian Vettel at 7/4

Vettel was just one position outside of the points in France and he has delivered on a points finish in three of his last six starts.
