Michigan, Detroit is the next stop off on the PGA Tour for the Rocket Mortgage Classic starting on Thursday and we take a look at the Tournament from a betting angle.
The Detroit Golf Club, a par 72 layout, plays host to this Tournament and despite plenty of trees and small greens players tend to go low as the fairway landing areas are generous and by modern standards the course plays fairly short.
Bryson Dechambeau will be looking to get back to winning ways and he is currently priced at 8/1 favourite, Patrick Reed is 15/1 with Masters Champion Hideki Matsuyama and Webb Simpson 20/1 and you can get 22/1 and better the balance. We pick 4 players to take on the field and the bookmakers.

SUGGESTED BETS:
Matthew Wolff each way at 35/1
Wolff missed the cut last week after contending the week before in the US Open where he eventually finished 15th. His game seems to be coming back to his best and he will have great memories of this course having finished runner-up last year. Wolff tends to be a streaky player and I am quite happy to be taking 35/1 about his chances this week.
Garrick Higgo each way at 45/1
After bursting out of the gates with the PGA victory, Higgo has struggled the last couple of weeks, missing the cut in the USA Open and also last week. It may well have been something of a hangover after his initial success and I am hoping he has knuckled back down and is concentrating on his game and really to go low at a course he hasn’t played, but which he should be well suited to.
Danny Willett each way at 100/1
After a few years in the wilderness Willett is starting to pop up on leader boards now and then. He has made his last 3 cuts in a row on Tour including a top 15 finish 3 starts back, but what really catches the eye was his 4th place finish here in 2020. This past Masters Champion will surely win again sometime and I am happy to be on him at a big price this week.
Bryson Dechambeau each way at 8/1
I wasn’t going to go for Dechambeau as I haven't been that impressed with his recent form although in fairness to him he hasn’t finished outside the Top 30 in his last 3 starts. The fact that this course doesn’t require great length means that Bryson can reduce it to almost a pitch and putt at times and given my next shortest selection is 35/1 I feel justified in including him in single figure quotes.
