BettingDiaryWe take a look at the 3 Six Nations matches taking place this weekend from a betting angle.

A quick look at the Outright Betting where France have replaced England as favourites and are currently trading at 12/10, the English are 39/10 second favourites with Scotland 4/1, 13/2 Wales and you can get 27/4 on Ireland.

ENGLAND v ITALY – Click here to bet

England started last weeks match against Scotland 14.5 point favourites, but it was the Scots who dominated the game eventually winning a tight contest 11-6. The defeat would certainly have rocked England and their prospects of defending their title certainly has taken a blow.

Italy haven't won a Six Nations match since 2015 and their dismal form continued last week when they were beaten by 40 points at home to France. They showed plenty of intent, but just could not break down the French defence and were found wanting when France ran at them.

BETTING

England 1/100

Draw 100/1

Italy 33/1

Handicap: England (-37.5) at 9/10, Italy (+37.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Alternative Winning Margin, England by 21-30 points at 4/1

I think this handicap is a bit big, but can’t back Italy with confidence and will take a speculative play that England pull clear at some point to win by 21-30 points inclusive, a bet which would have arrived in two of the last three meetings between the sides at Twickenham.

SCOTLAND v WALES – Click here to bet

Scotland turned in one of their best performances in years when beating England at Twickenham last week and they will be hoping they don’t have a let-down in form as they look to make it 2 from 2. They will be looking to the likes of Captain, Stuart Hogg and brilliant Flyhalf, Finn Russell for inspiration.

Wales were underdogs at home against Ireland, but they were clearly up for the game from the start and eventually won by 5 points. They did benefit from an early Ireland red card, but that aside their defence was impressive and they surprised many a punter as Ireland had been well backed on the day.

BETTING

Scotland 9/20

Draw 25/1

Wales 22/10

Handicap: Scotland (-4.5) at 9/10, Wales (+4.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: First Try Scorer, Stuart Hogg at 11/1

I think the handicap is well set and fancy Scotland 1-12 points at a current price of 13/10, but for now my interest is on the First Try Scorer Market where the exciting Hogg is fancied at just over a double figure price.

IRELAND v FRANCE – Click here to bet

It is hard to know what to read into Ireland’s performance last weekend as they went down to 14 men early and then proceeded to dominate the first half against Wales. In the end though they were found wanting going down 21-16 and they will need to bounce back quickly if they are to be contenders for the title.

The problem is they have a rampant French side visiting and France had few problems seeing off Italy by 40 points in Rome last weekend and they are starting to show the sort of consistency never before seen in a French team.

Ireland have an excellent record against France in Dublin ad last time they met here they won 26-14.

BETTING

Ireland 29/20

Draw 25/1

France 4/6

Handicap: Ireland (+3.5) at 9/10, France (-3.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Winning Margin, France under 12.5 points at 15/10

This should be a tight affair, but I think that France will pack too many guns for the Irish and backing them to take a narrow victory.
