WSB Logo Orange 80x80The riders return from a rest day on Tuesday to tackle Stage 10 of the Vuelta a España, a 25.8 kilometres individual Time Trial taking place in Valladolid.

STAGE 9 WRAP

Stage 9 went as expected to the breakaway although unfortunately Lennard Kamna wasn’t in our staking plan. He attacked his breakaway companions on the final climb riding to victory in what turned out to be quite a complicated stage with the finishing times been taken over 2 kilometres from the end of the climb for safety reasons.

There was no significant action in the General Classification with a few seconds trading hands here and there.

JERSEY UPDATE

Sepp Kuss remains the outright leader, 43 seconds ahead of Marc Soler with Remco Evenepoel, the first of the big favourites, 2.22 back. There has been some movement in the Outright Betting with Vingegaard and Roglic now joint favourites at 15/10 with Evenepoel at 7/2. Sepp Kuss is 13/2 with 11/1 Ayuso and you can get 25/1 and better the balance.

Kaden Groves remains firmly in control of the Green Jersey and he is a 3/10 shot to win the points classification while Damiano Caruso is the new 5/1 favourite for the King of the Mountains Jersey currently held by Eduardo Sepulveda. Jumbo-Visma hold a 1 minute lead in the Team competition and they are 17/20 shots to be the Top Team in Madrid.

THE ROUTE

The 25.8 kilometres route is fairly flat with just a small climb and descent in the first 10 kilometres. It should suit the powerful time trialists and the pure climbers will be battling to limit the damage.

Remco Evenepoel 4/6

Filippo Ganna 7/4

Jonas Vingegaard 7/1

Primoz Roglic 11/1

Juan Ayuso 16/1

Stefan Bissegger 20/1

28/1 and better the balance

PREDICTION

Remco Evenepoel is the clear favourite at 4/6 at the time of writing with Ganna 7/4. Based on what I have seen in the last few days Evenepoel has great legs and he will of course be showing off the World Time Trial Champion Jersey, I make him tough to beat. Ganna and potentially Vingegaard (if he has his Tour de France Time Trial form) and Roglic have the ability to push him and we could get surprise rides from the likes of Bissegger and Cattaneo, but given the Worlds Sports Betting, money back for 2nd Promo, I think a solid strike on Remco Evenepoel is the wise play here.

Suggested Bet: Remco Evenepoel win at 4/6
