The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the extra 200m on offer. With racing experience on his side, he should be the one to beat.

ROCKAROUNDTHECLOCK had excuses on debut over 1000m. He has been gelded since that outing which may have been what he needed. There should be improvement to come from the son of Querari.

VAPOUR TRAIL finished 5 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The son of Erik The Red would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.

Race 2

CATCH A PENNY is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She was running on when second over 1000m last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1400m and from pole position, she may be rewarded for consistency.

DIAMOND BOMBER has finished second in her last three starts. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BEAUTIFUL SIDE showed very good improvement when fifth over this C&D last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and it is encouraging that Richard Fourie keeps faith in the ride.

Race 3

TENPENNY cost himself winning over this C&D last time as he hung towards the outside in the closing stages. The son of What A Winter is coming along the right way. JP van der Merwe knows him well and if keeping on a straight line, he should go one better.

BRIGADIER BILLY showed very good improvement when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. The son of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 1600m and he should have more to come.

DUBBELOSIX’S last two starts have been good. He returns from an 11- week break, during which time he was gelded. With a bit of luck in running, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

FUTURE FREQUENCY raced from a handy position over 1800m last time, but found one too good in the form of Bombers In The Sky. The son of Futura should love the rise to 2000m. He jumps from a good draw of three and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

UMFULA stayed on when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. The son of Canford Cliffs will love the rise to 2000m and with luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

AHEAD OF THE FACTS finished 2.7 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

 

 

Race 5

HUNGA TONGA showed good improvement when third over 1600m on this course last time. The manner in which she ran on at the finish that day was eye-catching. If confirming that effort in this field, she may be the one to beat.

TUSCAN ROMANCE has been costly to follow and she has been disappointing in her last two starts. The daughter of Master Of My Fate tries the 1800m for the first time and on best form shown, she can go close.

ENGLISH MISTRESS is better than her last start over 1600m. She has finished second three times and third once from five starts over this C&D. She will strip much fitter and will not be a shock winner.

Race 6

MELA STRENGTH finished 0.45 lengths behind SUMMER NIGHT CITY last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

PAST AND PRESENT finished 0.95 lengths behind SUMMER NIGHT CITY last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. He has cracked pole position and should go close.

SUMMER NIGHT CITY won a game race in her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Judpot meets a similar line-up and merits healthy respect.

Race 7

ENGLEFIELD GREEN ran on powerfully when winning her maiden over 1400m on this course. She should have no issues with the rise to 1600m. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight takes on stronger, but she has scope and should be up to the task at hand. She jumps from pole position which is a big plus.

JET TO THE SUN was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. She meets a similar line-up today and it would not be a shock to see her follow up with another victory.

MY ONLY WEAKNESS challenged strongly over 1800m last time, but found one too good in the form of Summer Night City. She finished 0.2 lengths behind LADY SPRINGFIELD in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 8

BECKY SHARP is better than her last start over 1000m. She finished 0.4 lengths behind WHY NOT JACKIE in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She will love the rise to 1200m and should be cherry-ripe. If putting her best foot forward, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

ROYAL LYTHAM raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of December Dawn. She may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

BLACK PATH finished 0.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

TANNERON showed good improvement in her last start over 1200m on this course. She jumped inwards leaving the start and stayed on at the finish. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry- ripe. The daughter of Var is the stable elect with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle and she may be the one to side with.

PRISCILLA MAISEY finished 0.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights, but there should not be much separating them at the finish.
