Race 1

DARK WINTER stayed on when third in the Listed Hollywoodbets Super League Devon Air Stakes last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She finished second in her only attempt on this course. She drops to 1000m and the blinkers should sharpen her up. If getting away to a clean start, she should be too good for this field.

DISCERNING returns from an 11-week break which would have done her the world of good. The drop to 1000m should suit her well and if fit, she should be the one to fill the exacta spot.

ARJUNA took on winners in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. If finding the form of her debut effort, she should feature.

Race 2

PARISIAN WALKWAY

FAMOUS WARRIOR

FRENCH FLAME

Race 3

GOOD LIVING showed good speed when third over 1200m last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Querari should have no issues with the drop to 1000m and in this field, he should be the one to beat.

WORLD PHAROAH finished 1.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe.

TRIPPI T has consistent form lines to his credit. He returns from a 14-week break which would have done him the world of good. If not in need of the run, he may be rewarded for consistency.

Race 4

MC DAZZLER was caught late when second over this C&D last time. He has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. If suited to this course, he should be the one to beat.

OMBUDSMAN ran a decent race on debut over 1100m at Turffontein. The son of Flower Alley would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be one of the leading contenders.

MY BOY LOLLIPOP fought hard when second in his last start over 1200m. He steps back up to 1400m which should suit him well. From his handy draw of five, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

LAUGH TILL I CRY showed good improvement when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and from her good draw of two, she should have more to come.

YELLOW JACKET set the pace over this C&D last time but was caught late by The Queen Bee. The relocation to KZN and fitting of the blinkers has done the trick. She does have a wide draw to overcome but gets the services of Muzi Yeni who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

PINK DIAMOND returns from a 19-week break which would have done her the world of good. The booking of S’manga Khumalo is encouraging. With a bit of luck in running, she can finish in the placings.

Race 6

RED MOUNTAIN had to overcome a wide draw over 1400m last time and was running on well at the finish. The son of Potala Palace should love the rise to 1750m. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and from his good draw of three, he can go one better.

BURNING MAN set the pace over 1600m last time before getting caught late by Ingqwele. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Fire Away. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

THE MIKADO should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung inwards in the final 300m. The son of Danon Platina should love the rise to 1750m and if keeping on a straight line, he can feature.

Race 7

IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA is better than his last start in the Grade 3 Hollywoodbets Dolphins Cup Trial as he was reported to be not striding out. He won his only attempt over this C&D. He gets the services of a 4kgs claiming apprentice which should assist his cause. If jumping on terms, he should be the one to beat.

ROYAL GUIDE produced a good comeback run when second over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He won his only attempt over this C&D, three runs ago. He will strip much fitter and merits healthy respect.

CAPTAIN CASEY is a good looking son of Captain Of All. He returns from a 12-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won over this distance previously and if fit, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 8

Trainer Alyson Wright holds a strong hand in this contest. VOLDEMORT finished 0.3 lengths behind WINTER WAVES last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If not too far out of his ground at the halfway mark, he can return to winning ways.

WINTER WAVES is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1400m on the polytrack. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this distance. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick. RAFA’S BOY finished 1.7 lengths behind

CELTIC CHIEF last time. He is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run today and should be right there.

Race 9

SHANTA’S PRIDE has consistent form lines to her credit. She moved up well in her last start, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Patants Heir. She has won twice, finished second three times and third once from nine starts over this distance. She gets the services of a 4kgs claiming apprentice and can return to winning ways.

RAFEEF’S CHOICE found one too good in the form of Khethiwe’s Destiny last time. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MAGGIE SMITH finished 1.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned
