BettingDiaryThe Newlands Cricket Test between South Africa and England is one of the sports betting highlights on Friday and we take a closer look at that and other action in our Daily Betting Diary.

CRICKET

South Africa are favourites to win the 2nd Test at Newlands having taken a 1-0 lead at Centurion in the Boxing Day Test.

The Proteas are 21/20 with the draw 7/1 and England are priced at 13/10. There will be live in-running betting on the match and of course there are a host of Exotic Markets to get involved with.

From a South African perspective they will be hoping that Elgar can return to form and you can get 2/1 about him scoring a 50 in the match.

Wickets fell frequently at Centurion and the run spread for the first wicket of England’s in their first innings is set at 24.5 at 17/20 either side of the line. Looking at the Man of the Match Market we do have a small fancy for Ben Stokes who didn’t bowl much at Centurion, but certainly looked good with the bat and you can get him at 10/1.

We won’t go into too much detail for the Australia v New Zealand 3rd Test which gets going in the early hours of Friday morning South African time. Needless to say Australia are firm favourites at 7/20 with the draw 15/4 and New Zealand 9/1.

There will be in-running betting and there are plenty of Exotic Markets on offer.

HORSE RACING

Local horse racing takes place at the Fairview Turftrack on Friday an 8 race card starting at 12:30 and finishing at 16:40.

Our fancy for the day comes in the feature race where we think Madame Speaker is going to be hard to beat at a current price of 5/2 a win.
