Race 4 Sylt each way at 10/1. Yet to threaten in 3 runs so far but probably needed the experience of each of those races and there isn’t a lot of depth to this field in terms of raced runners.
Race 6 Bolero at 33/10. Won readily on second start when backed. That was on wet and with further improvement set to come can go in again.
Race 7 Better Man at 5/2. Has been running against stronger, has form in wet and has gone well here in the past. Widest gate but a small field.
Race 8 Captain’s Angel at 28/10. Was highly tried in 2 of 5 runs and went close in the other 3. Arguably boasts the best form in the race and if a recent gelding has the desired effect should run a big race.

Race 1 - A few expensive purchases in the field. Best would be to watch the betting race time. Redford (35/20) one of only two runners in the race with race form. Returns from a rest, but has bumped some decent sorts in three career starts to date, including 5l behind Rich Man's World on debut. Trainer comments for some of the first-timers in Computaform - Above The Law (9/2) "Draw helps if not too green each way" Running Shoes (9/2) (R1.6million half brother to Zapatillas and Onetwobucklemyshoe.) "Nice type, include in exotics". Sixseven (13/2) "Shows ability but will gain racing experience."
Race 2 - Miss Arizona (13/20) beaten favorite last time. Two runner-up finishes over C&D. Jane Austen (15/4) could be the value of the race. Should improve from last run when third to Sabre Wing, who ran a top race when 2nd to the highly regarded Over My Shoulder on Sunday. Had a subsequent winner in First Bloom just over a length in front of her and decent sorts in Winter Blossom and One Dawn behind her that day. Watch the betting on Marcologys Girl (16/1). R2.2million purchase, half-sister to Captains Ransom. Stable in hot form and stable/jockey combo also one to follow.
Race 4 - Desert Ice (41/20) top runner-up finish behind Verse For Susanne last time. Money for Classy Dame (24/10). Trainer comments positive and the horse was taken to Durbanville for a gallop. Big plus in my books. Wild Weather (33/10) found small support on debut.
Race 5 - No use in looking further than Rich Man's World (1/3) for the winner. Fox On The Run (16/10 top 2 places) enjoys racing at Durbanville. Booking of de Melo also interesting. EX 6x4
Race 6 - Rhythm King (4/1) peak run after a rest. Has gone well at Durbanville lately. Richard Fourie booked to ride.
Race 7 - Not much between Soho Heartthrob (5/1) and Blind Date (28/10) on form. Also interesting that JP van der Merwe took the ride on Soho Heartthrob and not Pomp It Up (55/20). Better Man (26/10) plummets in class, returns from a rest, big chance on ability.
Race 8 - Daley Park (3/1) step up in trip should suit. De Melo now takes the ride. Trainers only runner on the day. Finished only 4.15l behind Wreath of Snow in most recent run, two winners already from that form line. For those chasing value, Lord Chamberlain (20/1) finished under a length in front of Daley Park on debut. Was carded to run over 1400m on 26 September, but scratched the day before for coughing. Step up in trip should assist. SW 6x12

one roughie for me - race 3 Bright Fate @ 18/1 ew, didn't get into race on debut but would have come on from that, gets plum draw.

Vaal on Thursday, took ages to dig anything out but eventually settled on these, playing for small stakes with some good cards to come Friday / Saturday / Sunday
Race 2 Piteraq to run in the first 3 at 14/10. Up against some less exposed rivals but has run best races over this trip (1000m) and can earn with Yeni retaining the ride.
Race 4 Cool Gambler at 4/1. Huge improvement from 1st to 2nd run, winning comfortably. That form line yet to produce but could easily be ahead of his rating which may not be the case with some of his market rivals.
Race 6 Power Of Pearls at 5/1. Off 91 days but has won when back from a break before. Up 6 points for 2nd career win last time out but can still make a bold bid
Race 8 Longsword at 11/2. Down in class with de Melo up

Race 4 - Status Symbol (4/1) received betting support last time when beaten 2.45l by Little Boy Blue, who has come out and won again. Not disgraced in penultimate run when beaten 6l in a Gr2 juvenile race on Gold Cup day jumping from the widest stall gate.
Race 5 - Buffalo Storm Cody (7/20) last run in RSA before leaving for Dubai. Again willing to end up with egg on my face, but think he will have a tough task giving this much weight away. As they say "Weight stops trains". Green Diamond (9/1 E/W) is 4.5kg better off with BSC for a 4.65l beating in the Mercury Sprint and 3kgs for just over 3 lengths in the Computaform Sprint. Ignore last run behind Echo Check when jockey, Craig Zackey, felt something amiss in running. Veterinarian reported "fatigued". Espinoza (19/1) has shown massive improvement since being fitted with blinkers and goes well for apprentice Samo-Burthia. Only carries 50kgs, receiving 12kgs from BSC. We've got 12 runners going to post, so swingers should pay well. SW 6x10
Race 8 - Kylie's Angel (9/1 e/w) goes well for Muzi Yeni. Received betting support in most recent run over a similar distance. Been running against way stronger of late.

Fairview on Friday, on the poly, could only find 2 that made appeal
Race 6 El Capitan at 9/2. Closely matched with the favourite (Bel Canto Dream) on 1st July poly run and was drawn wide that day. Excuses over further on turf last time, eased another point by handicapper and Murray up
Race 7 Inspiration at 8/1. Gets plenty of weight from more fancied runners. 3rd run in ECP, hit the post first time, disappointed last time out, backed on both those runs and could surprise.

Race 1 Dembele at 7/1. Finished in the ruck well behind a useful one on debut. Should benefit plenty from that experience and if settling better today could be a factor in the finish.
Race 2 Tequila Sky at 9/2. Only 1 win from 20 and that was an awful long time ago but has been taking on far stronger without being too far back. 109 day absence to overcome and draw could have been kinder but still worth a nibble in this grade.
Race 4 Close Encounter at 13/10. First look at Greyville and the poly but form of a fair debut for new yard which came after a long absence has been franked. Draw 1 another plus with de Melo up.
Race 5 Star Of The Future each way at 10/1. Form can be in and out but is down in class and last win came in a stronger race off a 1 point higher rating than today
Race 6 What A Classic at 8/1. 2 good runs on poly and step up in trip should suit. Competitive race but not dismissed.
Race 7 Kimball O’hara each way at 16/1, Collateral form lines suggest this is a value price. 4kg claimer has 2 win and 4 places from 12 rides

A couple for me today
Race 1
Was on fav Thanksgiving day last time, and came close but wasn't beaten by much. Two tigers took 10 races to break maiden so to me leaves it open to 1st timers. MDK sounds positive but for a 4 year old 1st timer, yes injured but who knows. I like some of Eastwood, now 10/1. Well bred and full brother to Yipee Kayay from MDK yard, who won 1st time up.
2nd for me is Cubano @ 35/1 now, stable has always been good to me, and brings them ready normally. Dam was good to me and thrown up a couple with pace. Weighted to places at this price but worth a shot.
Race 2 - Matinee @ 25/2
Gets claimer up who has done okay for stable. First off spring of Roll in the Hay who if I remember was top sprinter, and been by Rafeef hope its complimented and get a decent run
Good luck for you guys and hope you have some more winners.

race 5 - Mohandra @ 33/1 ew. Price feels big and this is one of the stronger appies about, interesting he takes ride when possibly could have been on one of the favourites from van zyl yard. If draw a line thru last effort when lost many lengths, he's been quite consistent and does like the poly.
race 8 - Dancing in Denmark @ 16/1 ew. Plum draw and she is now a poly specialist, jock knows her well and interesting stable comments 'she will run a cracker', enough for me to get involved at this sort of price.
