Punters please note the Wednesday start.

THE COURSE

The Farmers Insurance Open has been played at Torrey Pines Golf Course for more than 50 years running. The public course consists of two golf courses, North and South, both are difficult par 72s.

The North Course plays shorter at 7,258 yards, while the South Course plays at 7,802 yards, which was the longest course on the 2023 FEDEX Cup calendar.

It is no surprise that big hitters usually come out on top. The first two days will be played over both courses, while the last two days will be played on the tougher South Course. Torrey Pines sits on top of cliffs of San Diego overlooking the Pacific Ocean and is unprotected from the weather coming off the sea. Calm weather is expected for the weekend.

SELECTIONS:

Tony Finau at 23.00

Finau has had a brilliant record at the Farmers Insurance Open, in his last eight starts he has finished in the top fifteen on seven occasions. This includes two top fives and another four top ten finishes. Finau did not have a good American Express Championship missing the cut but managed to finish 15th in his start before at The Sentry.

Suggested Bet: Tony Finau each way at 23.00.

Jason Day at 26.00

Day is another player who has a solid record at the Farmers Insurance Open. In his last ten starts he has won the tournament twice, finished in the top 5 on another two occasions as well as a top 10 and top 15 finish. Day finished 3rd at last weeks American Express and will be looking to bring that momentum into this week’s tournament.

Suggested Bet: Jason Day each way at 26.00.

Justin Lower at 101.00

Lower is coming off the back of a solid third place finish at last weeks American Express. He finished 43rd at last years event and the 35 year old American will be looking to kick on and prove that he is a late bloomer.

Suggested Bet: Justin Lower each way at 101.00 and a bigger bet Top 10 at 9.00

Patrick Rogers at 81.00

Rogers is a bit hit and miss at this tournament but has 3 top 10’s in the last 8 years including a 9th place finish last year. He ended 2024 strong with a Top 20 and a Top 10 and although off to a slow start this year I am backing him at long odds on the basis of his knack of popping up in this event.

Suggested Bet: Patrick Rogers each way at 81.00 and a bigger bet Top 10 at 7.50
