Race 1

MOCHA MACAROON raced from a handy position over 1600m on this course last time, but was touched off by Village Green. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. Raymond Danielson retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

LORNA LILLY set the pace over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course and fought hard all the way to the line. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back. 

WONDER I DO produced two fair runs before given a 10-week break. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track. The daughter of Rafeef has plenty of scope and from pole position, she should be competitive. 

Race 2

ARABIAN RED showed some improvement when second in her last start over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she was unbalanced at the 200m mark. The daughter of Heavenly Blue is a progressive type and will love the rise to 1800m. In this type of field, she can shed her maiden tag

CITY LIGHTS stayed on when fourth over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The daughter of Pomodoro will be at home over this distance. Calvin Habib retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect. 

MOUNT ETNA raced wide around the turn over 1900m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time, but stayed on to finish fourth. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

RAFFLES was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. He gets the blinkers fitted which will keep his mind on the task at hand. He finished third in his only attempt on this course. If getting away to a clean start, he can notch up his third career victory.

 PERFECT WITNESS is better than her last start over 1600m. She has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should give the males a run for their money.

DESTINY OF SOULS was an easy winner of his last start over 2000m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He finished 1.75 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 3.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 4

SUMMER OF DREAMS followed up her maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over this C&D. She set the pace that day, but tired in the latter stages. The daughter of What A Winter is in a good space and runs well for Marco van Rensburg. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to catch.

 PRIMROSE PATH ran on from last when winning her last start over 1800m. She has finished second twice and third once from four starts on this course. If not too far out of her ground, she should pose a massive threat.

LEONESSA finished 1.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. 

Race 5

AVOONTOAST showed some signs of needing her last start over 1800m. Her two starts over this distance, prior to that outing were good. The daughter of Twice Over will strip much fitter and she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

BALLROOM BLISS finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

LADY CALAVERA showed good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. She moved up well that day, but was caught late by Say Yes. She jumps from pole position and must be included in all bets.

Race 6

MESCAL‘S last two starts have been decent. It must be noted that Silent War has come out and won again since. He has won once, finished second twice and third twice from nine starts over this distance. He finished 0.25 lengths behind BACK TO BASICS in his penultimate start. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

TWICE THE STORM is better than his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

BACK TO BASICS stayed on when fourth over 1450m on this course. Three of his five career victories have come over this distance. If putting his best foot forward, he should be competitive

Race 7

SCALLYWAG finished 1 length behind FUNKY MUSIC last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. He is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy and may be hard to peg back.

FUNKY MUSIC is a winner of his last three starts. He received a seven-pound penalty for his last victory. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

WHAT A HONEY has very good form lines to her credit. She has finished third three times from four starts on this course. She will be settled near the rear of the field and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 8

MEET THE CAPTAIN finished 1.8 lengths behind CERULEAN DANCER last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. Three of her four career victories have come on this course and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.

CERULEAN DANCER ran a fair race in male company over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. She won a good race over 1400m in her penultimate outing. She is likely to race on the speed and must be included in all bets. 

INNER SENSE may not have seen out the 1800m last time. She won her maiden over this C&D in her penultimate outing. She jumps from a good draw of two and should have a say in the outcome of this contest
