Race 1
TAKE YOUR PLACE showed good speed over 1000m at Turffontein last time, but was outrun late by Kia Kaha. She produced a strong finish when second over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course in her penultimate effort. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and she may be the one to side with.
VULCANITE produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course. She understandably raced green but stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Erupt would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should pose a threat.
SUMMER WINTER was in need of her debut effort over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.
Race 2
OMBUDSMAN is better than his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He was squeezed when leaving the start and was reported to be coughing post-race. His debut effort when fifth over 1100m at Turffontein was encouraging. The son of Flower Alley has scope and he may be the one to side with in this field.
BLAZE A WAY ran a decent race on debut over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.
ANTONIO GAUDI finished 0.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 3
PRESSONREGARDLESS ran a good race in his last start over this distance at Turffontein. He set the pace that day but found one too good in the form of Theres A Light. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. From pole position, he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
STORM AHEAD finished 0.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He will strip much fitter and with luck in running, he should pose a threat.
PANNING GOLD was a beaten favourite in his last two starts. The 1400m should be right up his alley. He is carded to race on 20 July 2024 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

DOUGLAS DRAGON challenged strongly when second over 1800m at Turffontein last time but found one too good in the form of Main Mission. The son of Lancaster Bomber is in a good space and from pole position, he can go one better.
MASTER TIK TOK finished 2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. The son of Mogok Master will be mowing down the frontrunners.
ORANJEMUND finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may battle to turn the form around. The son of Querari is a progressive type and may have more to come.
Race 6
CITY LIGHTS is still a maiden after 18 starts but has consistent form lines to her credit. She challenged strongly over 1800m last time, but found one too good in the form of Easy On Me. The daughter of Pomodoro should have no issues with the rise to 2000m and she may be rewarded for consistency.
BUTTERNUTENROOIWYN finished 4.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
PARTY PUNCH has shown improvement in her last three starts. The daughter of New Predator should enjoy the rise to 2000m. She has scope and with just 55kgs on her back, she can earn another cheque for her patrons. She is carded to race on 20 July 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Trainer Tony Peter holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first two past the post. RULERSHIP showed good speed over this distance at Turffontein last time, but was outrun late. The son of William Longsword is the class horse in this contest and he can notch up his seventh-career victory.
CAPTAIN HINDSIGHT was touched off by Lucky Lad last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
