BettingDiaryPunters have a full house of English Premier League fixtures to look forward to this weekend and we single out 4 of the matches as betting opportunities.

Let’s start with an update of the Outright Betting markets where Manchester City remain firm favourites at 15/20 to defend their title, Chelsea are 26/10 and you can get 9/2 Liverpool and 100/1 and better the balance.

SATURDAY

ARSENAL v NEWCASTLE UNITED

Arsenal are 5th on the table, but they saw an 8 match unbeaten run ended last time out when they were hammered 4-0 at Liverpool. They have only lost once at home in 6 matches this season and have won 4 of their last 5 home games.

Newcastle currently sit bottom of the table without a victory in their opening 12 games. Their last match was a 3-3 home draw against Brentford and they have drawn 3 of their last 4 matches on the road.

Arsenal 5/10

Draw 15/4

Newcastle United 21/4

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 15/20

Arsenal’s confidence must be rocked after last week’s defeat and although Newcastle have battled to get victories they have managed to score a goal on the road in their last 5 away matches and this bet would have arrived in all of those games.

LIVERPOOL v SOUTHAMPTON

Liverpool are 3rd on the table 4 points behind leaders, Chelsea. They hammered Arsenal 4-0 at home last time out and that broke a run of two games without a win. They haven't tasted defeat at Anfield this season, but they have drawn 3 of their 6 home matches.

Southampton are currently 13th on the log and they are coming off a disappointing 2-1 away loss at Norwich. They have only won once on the road this season.

Liverpool 3/10

Draw 5/1

Southampton 31/4

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Liverpool (-1) at 15/20

For this bet to arrive we need Liverpool to win by more than 1 goal and this is something they have achieved in their last 4 home matches against Southampton.

SUNDAY

MANCHESTER CITY v WEST HAM

Manchester City go into the weekend 2nd on the table, 3 points behind Chelsea. They are coming off a 2-1 come from behind home victory against PSG in midweek in the Champions League. Looking at their League form their last game was a 3-0 home win over Everton, but they were stunned 2-0 by Crystal Palace at home a few weeks back.

West Ham currently sit 4th on the log, but saw their 4 match winning run ended when they lost 1-0 at Wolves last time out. That was their first away defeat in 6 matches this season.

Manchester City won this fixture 2-1 last season and the sides drew 1-1 at West Ham. It is hard to look past Manchester City here and they have won their last 5 home games against West Ham, but this is a very different Hammers outfit and I am going to stick to the goals market for a betting interest.

Manchester City 3/10

Draw 19/4

West Ham 8/1

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 12/10

Prior to the defeat to Wolves this would have arrived in West Ham’s previous two games and I think they can trouble the City defence while City themselves are always good for a few goals at home.

CHELSEA v MANCHESTER UNITED

Chelsea are top of the table having won 5 and drawn 1 of their last 6 fixtures and they are also going well in Europe having thumped Juventus 4-0 at home in midweek. Their last League game was a 3-0 win at Leicester last weekend, but their last home game was a disappointing 1-1 draw with Burnley.

Manchester United booked their spot in the Champions League knockouts with a 2-0 win over Villarreal in Spain in midweek. That was their first game since parting ways with manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a heavy 4-1 defeat at Watford last week, their 5th loss in their last 7 EPL matches.

Chelsea 6/10

Draw 16/5

Manchester United 9/2

Suggested Bet: Correct Score, Chelsea 2-0 at 6/1

I think Chelsea win this, but it could be a fairly tight game and possibly low scoring. Nothing really jumps out at me with a 6/10 Chelsea a little bit short for my pocket and I am going to stick with a speculative correct score play here.
