These are two of the four teams to boast a 100% record from the first two game weeks. Arsenal have reeled off a pair of 2-0 wins, at home to Wolves first up and then away to Villa in a very solid start to the season. Meanwhile Brighton came away from Everton with a 3-0 and followed up with a 2-1 home victory over Man United.

 

The Verdict:

 

Arsenal's defence looks every inch as solid as they were last season but there is plenty to like about Brighton and I fancy they can contribute to the scoring. I'm with both teams to score in a game of 3 goals or more in total.

Brentford 8/11 Draw 3/1 Southampton 7/2

 

Brentford were 2-1 winners at home to Palace on the opening weekend and they performed with credit without causing Liverpool any major problems in a 2-0 defeat at Anfield last time out. Southampton went down 1-0 at 10 man Newcastle on their return to the Premier League and last weekend they were beaten at home by Forest by the same scoreline to leave them without a point or a goal.

 

The Verdict:

 

It's early day's for Southampton but they haven't shown us much so far and I'll go with Brentford's Brian Mbeumo, who scored in their first home game, to get himself on the scoresheet again.

Everton 17/10 Draw 2.45/1 Bournemouth 1.55/1

 

Everton had Ashley Young sent off in the second half of their 3-0 home defeat to Brighton on the opening weekend and last time out they crashed to aa 4-0 defeat at Spurs and with a -7 goal difference they are at the foot of the standings, one of five teams yet to earn a point. Bournemouth have drawn both their matches 1-1, away at Forest and then at home to Newcastle, a steady enough start.

 

The Verdict:

 

The alarm bells are ringing at Everton and the fans were on the back last week so this is an opportunity for Bournemouth for whom Semenyo is attractively priced to provide an assist.

Ipswich 21/10 Draw 26/10 Fulham 5/4

 

Ipswich faced the toughest of starts to the season, going down 2-0 at home to Liverpool and then 4-1 away to Manchester City. Fulham started well but faded a bit in their 1-0 defeat away to Man United but they put themselves on the board last weekend when they saw Leicester 2-1 at Craven Cottage and they now face another of the newly promoted sides.

 

The Verdict:

 

This will tell us much more about Ipswich than their EFL cup defeat at Wimbledon in midweek but Fulham have recruited well and midfielders Smith-Rowe and Iwobi impressed last week. I think Fulham can score at least twice.

Leicester 34/10 Draw 2.95/1 Villa 15/20

 

Leicester were outplayed by Spurs in the first half of their opening home match but to their credit they clawed they way back to draw 1-1 with a Vardy equalizer. Last weekend they lost 2-1 at Fulham. Villa came away from an awkward looking trip to West Ham with a 2-1 win first time out but they struggled at home to Arsenal last week and finished comfortably beaten 2-0.

 

The Verdict:

 

Villa scored in each half of their win at West Ham and whilst they battled to lay a glove on Arsenal last week I will side with them to repeat their opening day feat.

Forest 11/10 Draw 26/10 Wolves 2.45/1

 

Forest were pegged back late on by Bournemouth and had to settle for a 1-1 draw in their first home game of the season but they came away from Southampton with a 1-0 win last weekend. Wolves are having a tough time of it, they rarely troubled Arsenal in a 2-0 defeat in London first time out and last week they were level at 2-2 with Chelsea at half time but crumbled thereafter and eventually lost 6-2.

 

The Verdict:

 

Wolves have to put that second half collapse against Chelsea behind them against a Forest side who have done pretty well from a couple of favourable fixtures but could be a touch short in the match result market. I haven't managed to land a draw pick so far this season but I'll chance my arm again with this one.

West Ham 6/1 Draw 44/10 Man City 4/10

 

West Ham lost their opening match at home to Villa 2-1 but there was a big improvement last week when they came away from Crystal Palace with a 2-0 win. 

City began their defence of the title with a convincing 2-0 win at Chelsea and although they conceded first against Ipswich in Manchester last week they hit back to win 4-1. Haaland scored a hat trick against Ipswich and was also on target at Chelsea.

 

The Verdict:

 

West Ham will have to be right on top of their game to have any chance of avoiding a second home defeat. I think they will give it a good go but it's hard to argue with City's start to the campaign. I'm battling to find anything but will chance my arm with a price boost for City to win but with West Ham contributing to the scoring.
