Race 1

TENANGO has produced two good efforts to date. He cost himself winning over 1250m last time as he hung in the closing stages. The son of Canford Cliffs will be at home over 1400m and if keeping on a straight line, he should take a power of beating.

CELTIC CHIEF produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. He lost a length leaving the start, but the manner in which he ran on at the business end was eye-catching. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should pose a massive threat.

GUARDING THE WALL showed some improvement in his last start over 1250m on this course. The son of Querari will love the extra distance on offer and he should have more to come.

Race 2

LINDBERGH has finished second in his last two starts over 1250m, under Grant van Niekerk. He is having his peak run today and will love the rise to 1400m. The son of Lancaster Bomber is a progressive type and may be the one to side with.

FOUDRE ran a good race on debut over 1250m on this course. He was slow into stride, but the manner in which he finished off his race that day was eye-catching. The son of Fire Away would have gained from the experience and will make the natural improvement. With luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

SACAMBAYA raced from a handy position over this C&D, moved up but was caught late by Hat’s Pride. If repeating that effort, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

TIME FOR LOVE should have finished closer to the winner over 1400m last time. She had to be steadied at the 900m mark that day, but finished her race off well. The daughter of Time Thief will love the rise to the mile. Oswald Noach knows her well and with a bit of luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag.

CHARLENE finished 0.3 lengths behind SCHOOL POLICY last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She tries the 1600m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should fight out the finish.

SCHOOL POLICY should have won her last start over 1250m as she was held up for a run at the 100m mark. She will love the rise to the mile and must be included in all bets.

Race 4

GLOBAL MOVEMENT ran a good race when second in his last start over this C&D. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Grant van Niekerk retains the ride and the pair can go one better.

MARSHALL FIELD produced a typical second run after a rest over 1600m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He is better suited to this distance and will be at peak fitness.

LORD FYFIELD was doing his best work late when fifth over 1600m last time. The son of Master Of My Fate finished third in his penultimate run over this trip. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

ZOOMIE followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish in the Listed Somerset 1200. He returns from a 14-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Querari looks to have class about him and if fit, he may be the one to beat.

PREVALENCE ran on from far back when third over this C&D last time. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. The son of Gimmethegreenlight carries a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

SAN PEDRO finished 2.85 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is only 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned. Richard Fourie keeps faith in the ride which is encouraging.

Race 6

CHARLES DICKENS makes his seasonal debut after a successful KZN campaign having won the Grade 2 WSB Guineas and the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge. The 16-week break would have done him the world of good. He is unbeaten from two starts over this distance and he should notch up his ninth career victory.

GIMME A PRINCE should have finished closer in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint last time. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. He always gives of his best and merits healthy respect.

ROYAL AUSSIE is better than his last start in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge. Three of his four career victories have come over this distance. If getting away to a clean start, he can finish in the placings.

Race 7

GOLDEN HOSTESS ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Ridgemont Garden Province Stakes last time. She returns from a 13-week break which may have done her the world of good. She has won over this distance in the past and races well fresh. Aldo Domeyer steps back into the saddle and she can return to winning ways.

HAPPY CHANCE finished 1.25 lengths behind GIMME’S LASSIE last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today which should be enough for the tables to be turned. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CALA MURETTA won a game race in the Grade 2 Debutante last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. She does take on older, but has plenty of ability and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

This is a weak Cape C Stakes field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is HIGHLYCONFIDENTIAL from the Justin Snaith stable. She may not have seen out the 1200m in her last outing. She won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over this distance, in her penultimate start. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight races well fresh and she should give the males a run for their money.

BONANZA showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He has dropped to a competitive rating and may be hard to peg back

WYLIE JACK finished 1 length behind ELUSIVE TRADER last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run today and with luck in running, he can cause the upset.

Race 9

LA DIVINA was an easy winner on debut over 1000m on this course. The daughter of Vercingetorix found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. She should have no issues with the rise to 1250m. She does take on stronger, but could be anything and can remain unbeaten.

LADY LOOK ALIKE followed up her maiden win with a good third-place finish over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She shows good speed in her races and may be hard to peg back.

MONTELENA ran on strongly when winning her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She returns from a 17-week break, during which time she changed stables. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie is booked to ride and she has scope
