RACE 1

GIDEON‘S DAUGHTER is the best bet on the programme. She produced a promising debut effort over this distance on the turf. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of Skitt Skizzle would have gained from the experience and with a bit of luck in running, she should take a power of beating.

NAIROBI set the pace over 1400m last time, but was outrun late by Exclusively Yours. She drops back to the 1200m and if repeating her last effort, she should be the one to fill the exacta spot.

DAWN OF GOLD ran a good race in her stable debut over 1400m, last week Friday. She drops to the 1200m and if this run has not come too soon, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

RACE 2

RED WILLIAM hails from the visiting Glen Kotzen stable. He set the pace over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time, but found one too good in the form of No Apologies. The son of William Longsword tries the 1900m and polytrack for the first time. If suited, he can win a race of this nature.

SLAINTE MHATH showed good improvement when fourth in his last start over 1600m on this course. He returns from a 13-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of Duke Of Marmalade is a progressive type and he is one of the leading contenders.

MORE FOR ME raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Fiery Cliffs. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is the stable elect with Muzi Yeni in the saddle and must be included in all bets.

RACE 3

MY BOY REECEY ran a good race when second over 2000m on the turf last time. It must be noted that Bournemouth has come out and won again since. Two of his four career victories have come over this C&D. He does have an awkward draw of nine to overcome, but Luyolo Mxothwa knows him well and he should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

IRISH RAIN was not beaten far in his last start over the mile. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. The 6yo gelding jumps from pole position and should pose a massive threat.

SUPER SILVER ran a good race when third in his local debut over 1800m on this course. He takes a drop-in class and with Piere Strydom in the saddle, he should be competitive.

RACE 4

CLIMATE CONTROL is having his first run for the Alan Greeff stable. He has been a tad disappointing on the Highveld. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this distance. He takes a drop-in class and if suited to the polytrack, he can return to winning ways.

LIGHT WITHOUT stayed on strongly when second over 1900m on this course last time. He should have no issues with the drop to the mile. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

EUPHORIC ran on well when winning his last start over this C&D. He finished 1.25 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate start. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 5

PARIS LASS followed up her maiden victory with a decent fifth-place finish over this C&D. It must be noted that Three Rocks has come out and won again since. The daughter of Visionaire is joint best weighted and if not in need of the run, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure

SUMMER ODYSSEY has fair recent form lines to her name. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and she should pose a massive threat.

GLOBAL FORCE ran a fair race over 1300m last time, despite the jockey reporting something to be amiss. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He won his only attempt over this C&D and cannot be ignored.

Race 6

GALLIC TRIBE caught the eye when running on to finish third over 1200m on this course last time. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw of ten and will be mowing down the frontrunners. Piere Strydom does duty and he may be able to get the best out of the son of Vercingetorix.

PORT LOUIS stayed on strongly when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this distance. From pole position, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

PRINCE OF FIRE was given a peach of a ride to win the Non-Black Type Nelson Mandela Bay Poly Challenge 1200 last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. His wide draw is an obvious concern, but he should be right there once again.

RACE 7

GRUE OF ICE is one of the better bets on today’s card. She ran a good race when second in her last start over 1000m on this course. The removal of the blinkers seems to have done the trick on the daughter of Gimmethegreenlight. She jumps from pole position and in this line-up, she should go one better.

IQEMBULABESIFAZANE won a good race in her last start over 1300m on this course. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. She should have no issues with the drop to 1200m and merits healthy respect.

DEFINING MOMENT finished 1.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

RACE 8

HAT‘S PRIDE followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He challenged strongly, but was outrun by Yamadori. The son of Hat Puntano has plenty of scope and if suited to the polytrack, he should fight out the finish.

TIMBAVATI RIVER ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1300m on this course. He meets similar opposition this afternoon and can follow up.

CLAP OF THUNDER was given a good ride when winning his last start over this C&D. He finished 2.75 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
