Race 1
NILE THE BOSS produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, three weeks ago. She understandably raced green, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. The daughter of Potala Palace would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra 250m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.
DOUBLE GRAND SLAM finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
JET TO THE SUN is an unraced daughter of What A Winter from the Justin Snaith stable with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including To The Max and One Night In Paris. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
Race 2
SNOW PILOT ran a decent race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He was green in running but once finding his feet, he finished his race off nicely. The son of Lancaster Bomber would have come on from the run and will love the extra 250m on offer. With a bit of luck from his wide barrier position, he should shed his maiden tag.
ZOOMIE stayed on at the finish last time, but found one too good in the form of Outlaw King who looks to be above average. The son of Querari is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.
MOJO MAN has finished third in both his outings to date. He finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
Race 3
MIGHTY MAC finished 0.05 lengths behind ASPECT last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Pathfork has his first run on this course and if suited, he can shed his maiden tag from barrier three.
RUN FOR ME finished 0.45 lengths behind ASPECT in the race referred to above. He is also 2.5kgs better off at the weights and should turn the form around. Richard Fourie retains the ride and the combination will be mowing down the frontrunners.
ASPECT moved up like a winner at the 200m mark last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 4
ZIPPY OVER was running on when second over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, five weeks ago. It must be noted that Saartjie has come out and won again since. The daughter of Twice Over will love the rise to 2000m and she will be at peak fitness. In this field, she can notch up her third career victory.
SOFT TOUCH finished 0.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
SUPREME DREAM is a maiden taking on winners. However, she ran a very good race when second over 1800m last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate has plenty of scope and with just 55.5kgs on her back, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 5
VIRGINIA SWEET stayed on at the finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time, but found one too good in the form of Mister Monocle. The Glen Kotzen stable has found form in recent meetings. She makes her course debut and if suited, she should give the males a run for their money.
DOUBLING UP should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung outwards from the 400m mark. The son of Twice Over tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should go close to winning.
CORONATION TIME finished 3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
Race 6
Trainer Greg Ennion holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first two past the post. FLY TO RIO raced wide around the turn over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time, but stayed on strongly all the way to the line. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.
VERONIQUE finished 1.35 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts on this course. The daughter of Pathfork will be doing her best work at the finish.
LUCY THE PINK showed good signs of a form return in her last start over 1600m. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she hung in the final 300m. If getting a run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 7
PAPER TRAIL raced wide around the turn over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, led turning for home but did not go on with the effort. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Legislate has dropped to a competitive rating and with just 54kgs on his back, he may be the one to cause the upset.
FORT RED finished 1.75 lengths behind WYAG last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
WYAG was an impressive winner of his last start, despite the saddle reported to have slipped in running. He has won once and finished third twice from as many starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should be competitive
