Race 1

ALLENDE made the expected natural improvement when finishing second over this C&D last time. She used her early gate speed to overcome her wide draw of eleven, but was caught late by Gimme’s Lassie. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Dynasty has cracked a good draw of four and she can go one better.

SAY YES finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

YGRITTE returns from a 16-week break and she is having her first run for the Brett Crawford yard. She has decent form lines to her credit and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

CALL IT FATE finished 1.25 lengths behind METAR in her last start over this C&D. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is having her second run after a rest and will strip much fitter. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will be mowing down the frontrunners.

METAR ran on from last when winning her last start over this C&D. She does have a big mass of 62kgs to carry, but jumps from a good draw of four and can notch up the hat-trick.

COSTA SMERALDA finished 0.2 lengths behind the second selection in the race referred to above. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 3

CARRIACOU produced an eye-catching debut effort over this C&D, four weeks ago. He raced wide around the turn, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of Captain Of All would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

STRATOSPHERIC was unlucky over this C&D last time as he was held up for a run between the 200m mark and the 100m mark. He will strip a much fitter horse today and from his midfield draw of six, he should pose a massive threat to the top choice.

CHARLIE CROKER has decent consistent form lines to his name. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should be right there.

Race 4

MAKE IT SNAPPY ran a very good race on debut, finishing third. She understandably raced green, but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. The daughter of Dynasty would have gained from the experience and will love the rise to the mile. With the natural progression that is expected, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

FALLO ANCORA tried hard in her last start over this C&D, but found one too good in the form of Happy Chance. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ELLA’S DELIGHT stayed on when third over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The daughter of William Longsword will be at home over the mile and can finish in the first three.

Race 5

RELEASE ME had to overcome the widest draw over 1250m on this course last time and finished his race off nicely. His debut effort when finishing second over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth catches the eye. The son of Master Of My Fate will love the step up to the mile and from pole position, he can shed his maiden tag.

FUTURE SWING was touched off in his last start over 1400m on this course. He finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

CONTIGUOUS was unlucky in his last start as he was held up for a run at the 400m mark. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck in running, he can go one better.

Race 6

TOZZETTI finished 0.75 lengths behind NOTHINGELSEMATTERS last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them where it matters most. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. He does have the widest draw to overcome but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

MACHETE MAN finished 1.25 lengths behind NOTHINGELSEMATTERS last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights and should be involved in the fight to the finish.

NOTHINGELSEMATTERS was unlucky not to have won his last start as he had to check at the 150m mark. He won his maiden over this distance. From pole position, he should go close to winning

Race 7

LE MORNE is unbeaten from two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He was settled near the rear of the field last time and the manner in which he ran on up the straight was eye-catching. The son of Futura clearly has class about him and from his good draw of three, he should keep his unbeaten record intact.

SCALINI followed up his maiden win with a good third-place finish over 1600m on this course. He makes his Handicap debut and from pole position, he should be one of the leading contenders.

TIZONA ran a good race when third behind the top choice last time. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts over this distance. He is having his peak run and merits obvious inclusion.

Race 8

GOLDEN HOSTESS was not disgraced when finishing fourth in the Grade 2 Debutante at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. She was reported to be cut into on her left fore leg that day. The 10-week break would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Gold Standard looks to be above average and if suited to this course, she may be the one to beat.

MISS GREENLIGHT has good consistent form lines to her credit. She has finished second twice and third once from as many starts on this course. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should go close to winning.

STIPTELIK produced good form before given a 26-week break. She is having her first run on this course and if not in need of the outing, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 9

SHANTASTIC was given a peach of a ride when winning on debut over 1200m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. She returns from a 12-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of Rafeef takes on stronger, but she could be anything and can remain unbeaten.

DOUBLE DREAM stayed on when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. She is having her second run after a rest and should strip much fitter. From pole position, she should pose a massive threat.

VERONIQUE finished 0.2 lengths behind MAGNETIC DIME last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. JP van der Merwe retains the ride and the combination will be mowing down the frontrunners
