RACE 1

TELIO is having her first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. She stayed on strongly when second over 1400m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Daddy’s Jet. The daughter of Twice Over has no issues with the drop to 1200m. She gets the services of capable work rider Esethu Thuthu and if settled into her new surroundings, she should be the one to beat.

LADY CHARTOUCHE produced a fair comeback run over this distance on the polytrack. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. If jumping on terms, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

. MISS TUCKER ran a fair race when third over 1300m on the polytrack last time. Her best career effort has come under work rider Hlumani Tsewu. If not too far out of her ground at the halfway mark, she should feature.

RACE 2

AMAZING COLOURS is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She stayed on over 1300m on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Savic. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Heavenly Blue meets the right field today and should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

BABY LOVE stayed on when fifth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She is having her first run for the Gavin Smith stable. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

TIBETAN TEMPTRESS was reported to be cut into on debut over this C&D, which didn’t help her chances. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Potala Palace would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement with Richard Fourie retaining the ride.

RACE 3

WILLIAM WEST hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. He is much better than his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth as he was reported to make a slow recovery after the race. His effort when finishing third over this distance three runs ago, catches the eye. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride and if putting his best foot forward, he should go close to winning.

AADEHYA is lightly raced with good form lines to his credit. He showed good speed over this distance on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Abound. The son of Vercingetorix is suited to this course and merits healthy respect.

MIRACULOUS MAN should have won his last start as he hung in the closing stages and had to be switched at the 200m mark. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. Denis Schwarz retains the ride and with a bit of luck in running, he can go one better.

RACE 4

FIRST ORIGIN stayed on when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The son of What A Winter won on debut on this course, under Luyolo Mxothwa. He has class about him and can return to winning ways.

DAWN OF A NEW ERA showed good improvement in his last start over 1400m on this course. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and if not in need of the run, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

OCEAN TIME is having his first run for the Gavin Smith stable. The son of Time Thief takes a drop-in class and S’manga Khumalo may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

RACE 5

EKORIA ran a creditable race when second in the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes over 1200m on the polytrack last time. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Futura has won four times and finished second three times from eight starts on this course. She will enjoy the step up to 1400m and if jumping on terms, she can return to winning ways.

BONIKA has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that Miss Marguerite has come out and won again since. If all went well with her travels, she has the ability to be involved at the finish.

LADY MISTICO was an easy winner of her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and may be hard to peg back.

Race 6

STEINBECK ran a decent race in his comeback run over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He was slow into stride, but stayed on at the finish. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this distance. He will strip a much fitter horse and with a bit of luck in running, he can notch up his fourth career victory.

MOON GAME fought hard for his last victory over 1400m on the polytrack. He has won twice from four starts over this C&D. The son of Pathfork meets a similar field this afternoon and can follow up.

SILVER TYCOON finished 1.35 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line. He is having his first run on the turf track and if suited, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 7

GRAZINGINTHEGRASS is a winner of his last three starts. He returns from a well-deserved 13-week break which would have done him the world of good. Three of his ten career victories have come on this course. He is the class horse in the race and despite his big mass of 62kgs, he is the horse to beat.

CHERRY ANO raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Blonde Act. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Capetown Noir always gives of his best and he merits obvious inclusion.

NAVY STRENGTH won a good race in his last start over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He does have work to do at the weights, but has the ability to be involved in the fight to the finish.

RACE 8

HEY SIRI was running on when second over this distance on the polytrack last time. She was her own worst enemy that day as she hung in the closing stages. Both her career victories have come on this course. If Francois Herholdt is able to keep her on a straight line, she is capable of going one better in this line-up.

PHOENIX finished 0.5 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

DOUBLE CHECK is better than her recent form suggests. The daughter of Twice Over is unbeaten from two starts on this course. She has dropped to a competitive rating and on best form shown, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest
