RACE 1
ESTHER is one of the better bets on today’s programme. She produced a promising debut over 1200m on this course. The daughter of Querari showed good speed, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Yaya Maria. She found betting support that day which suggests that she had been showing good work at home. She would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should go one better here.
MAGENTA was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1200m. Her previous form was encouraging including a second-place finish under today’s work rider. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
HUNDREDFIFTHAVENUE hails from the visiting Mike Stewart stable. Her penultimate run when finishing fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was encouraging. If all went well with her travels, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
RACE 2
BACK FOR MORE ran an encouraging race on debut over this C&D. She lost two lengths leaving the start, but stayed on nicely at the business end. The daughter of Global View would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should give the males a run for their money
GLOBAL BANKER showed good pace on debut over 1000m, but did not go on with the effort. The son of Global View would have come on from the run and if seeing out the extra furlong on offer, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
EMPIRE BLUE is the stable companion of the top choice. He showed good improvement when fourth over 1000m on this course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the extra furlong on offer. He is progressive and may have more to come.
RACE 3
LAW COURT showed good improvement in his last start over 1600m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. The son of Ideal World is having his first run for the Lunga Gila stable. He meets the right field and if settled into his new surroundings, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
BOURNEMOUTH is having his first run for the Alan Greeff stable and Richard Fourie is booked to ride. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. He is lightly raced with plenty of scope and can show improvement in this line-up.
AMERICAN HASHTAG showed some improvement in his first run for the Juan Nel stable. The son of The United States steps up to the 1400m and will strip much fitter. From pole position, he may have more to come.
RACE 4
MOUNT ANDERSON was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The step up to the mile is no concern as he has won over the distance in the past and with Rachel Venniker taking the 1.5kgs off, he can follow up.
FERRARI ICE finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line
TARANTINO is a winner of his last two runs over this trip. He fought hard for his last victory in the Non-Black Type Fairview Mile. The son of Master Of My Fate is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
RACE 5
SILVER SLIPPERS was beaten 2 lengths against male company over 1400m on this course last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. It must be noted that Cherry Ano has come out and won again since. She has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this distance. She will be at peak fitness and can return to winning ways.
VIHZOE‘S MAGIC was not disgraced when sixth against slightly stronger last time. She won a good race in her penultimate run over 1300m on the polytrack. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she won’t have any issues with the mile and she is one of the leading contenders.
HAZY CRAZY NIGHT has produced three decent efforts since winning her maiden over this distance on the polytrack. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and she should earn another cheque for her patrons
RACE 6
EKORIA won a game race in her last start over 1600m on this course. She received a bump at the 300m mark, but got the upper hand late. The daughter of Futura should love the extra furlong on offer. She is the class horse in the race and can notch up her fifth career victory.
SUGARBERRY took the lead at the 1300m mark last time and held on where it matters most. The daughter of Ideal World has no stamina issues and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
DOUBLE DESTINY finished 3.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today which is enough to turn the form around. However, EKORIA won easier than the official margin suggests and she may still have the upper hand.
RACE 7
LUNA HALO was not disgraced when fourth in the Non-Black Type Bloodstock SA Sales Cup over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Fire Away looks to be classy and with Richard Fourie back in the saddle, she should be the one to beat
SIDDELEY hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. She held on where it matters most when winning her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber is a progressive type and if all went well with her travels, she should pose a threat.
IDITA showed good speed when winning on debut over 1000m on this course. The daughter of Visionaire would have come on from the run and could be anything.
RACE 8
GUNSMOKE ran a good race in his local debut over this C&D. He moved up like a winner, but was caught late by Flinders Range. The son of Noble Tune would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. He meets a similar field this afternoon and from his mid-field draw of seven, he is capable of going one better
BRENDEN JAMES won a good race in his local debut over 1600m on this course. He has cracked a good draw of three and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
EL ROMIACHI was his own worst enemy over this C&D last time as he overraced in the early stages. He finished 2.25 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate outing. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
