RACE 1

AADEHYA was considered good enough to take his place in the Listed East Cape Nursery over 1200m on the turf. He showed signs of needing the run as he lacked a strong finish in the closing stages. The son of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and if suited to the Polytrack, he should be the horse to beat.

XPLICIT CONTENT was his own worst enemy last time as he over raced in the early stages. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MOVE ON OVER raced from a handy position over 1200m last time, but found one too good in the form of Waz Wouter. The daughter of Querari is a progressive type and should give the males a run for their money.

RACE 2

VANDALISE has shown good improvement in her last two starts on this course. She raced from a handy position over 1400m last time, moved up well but was caught late. The drop to 1200m will be right up her alley. Richard Fourie retains the ride from her good draw of four and she can go one better.

JAMBO SANA stayed on when third over this distance on the turf last time. The daughter of The United States gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

RED LOVE finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms this afternoon and she may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 3

PRINCIPESSA MIA is much better than her last start suggests. She was slow into stride, held up for a run and was reported to be distressed post-race. The daughter of Pathfork will love the return to 1200m. She jumps from pole position and if getting away to a clean start, she can shed her maiden tag.

YGRITTE showed good pace over 1000m on this course last time and stayed on to finish second. The cheekpieces seem to have done the trick on the daughter of William Longsword. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

SHORT SHARP SHOCK ran a good race when second in her local debut over 1300m on this course. The blinkers look to have had the desired effect and if repeating that effort, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

RACE 4

POPPING CREASE has finished second in his last two starts on this course. He raced from a handy position last time, but found one too good in the form of Lord Nelson. The son of Master Of My Fate should have no issues with the drop to 1900m and if suited to the polytrack, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

SJAMBOK stayed on when third over 1600m on this course last time. The son of Dynasty will love the rise to 1900m and Richard Fourie may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

SPACE EXPLORER finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 4kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. He is likely to set his own fractions up front and may be hard to peg back.

RACE 5

BLONDE ACT finished 3.95 lengths behind BUSH TRACKER last time. He is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. He does have to contend with the widest draw of nine, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

BUSH TRACKER was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. The pacifiers get fitted for the first time and despite his big mass of 61kgs, he can notch up the hat-trick.

TARANTINO stayed on when fourth over 1400m last time. He finished 9.25 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is only 2.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 6

VISION OF WONDER showed good speed before winning the Listed East Cape Nursery with ease last time. The son of Visionaire is now unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. He is a horse with class and should be hard to catch in the run down to the line.

LUNA HALO won a good race in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery last time. The manner in which she quickened up and drew away from the opposition was eye-catching. The daughter of Fire Away clearly has ability and should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

GOLDEN SICKLE hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. She showed pace in her last start over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth but found one too good in the form of October Morn. If all went well with her travels, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 7

PERFECTION was a beaten favourite in the Derby Plate last time. He finished 2.5 lengths behind HEATHCLIFF that day. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He tries the 2400m for the first time and if allowed to dictate his own terms in front, he may be hard to peg back.

HEATHCLIFF won a good race in the Derby Plate last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will have no issues with the step up in distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

COSMIC EVENT found betting support when winning his last start over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He makes the trip to the Eastern Cape in good form and it is encouraging that Grant van Niekerk retains the ride. If all went well with his travels, he should go close to winning.

RACE 8

BONNAROO was ultra-impressive when winning her last start over 1200m on this course. She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The manner in which she won her race that day suggests that she has plenty more in the tank. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can follow up.

RAINBOW THIEF is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over 1000m on the turf. She takes another slight rise in class, but is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

DEFINITELY MAYBE ran on strongly when winning her last start over 1600m on the turf. She lost a length at the start that day, but ran on strongly. She takes a slight drop in class and must be included in all bets.

Race 9

MR BODACIOUS finished 1.1 lengths behind PASHTUNWALI last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts on this course. He is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome his wide draw of ten and may be hard to peg back.

PASHTUNWALI ran on strongly when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. He meets a similar type of field today and merits healthy respect.

EL ROMIACHI was not disgraced when fourth against stronger company last time. He takes a big drop-in class and from his handy draw of four, he should run a big race.

Race 10

I LIKE IT HOT showed good speed over this distance on the turf last time, but was outrun late by Rainbow Thief. She has won once, finished second twice and third twice from eight starts over this distance. She takes a slight drop-in class and despite her big mass of 61kgs, she may be hard to catch.

RIDE THE LIGHTNING showed good improvement in her last start over 1200m on this course. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. She should strip a much fitter horse today and is one of the leading contenders.

AIMEE’S IDOL fought hard for her last victory over 1200m on the turf. She has no issues with the polytrack and if confirming her recent improvement, she should be competitive
