RACE 1

AMAZING COLOURS made the expected natural improvement when second in her last start over this C&D. She showed good speed, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Marshmallow. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Heavenly Blue is a progressive type and in this field, she should take a power of beating.

JOY AND PEACE is an unraced daughter of Master Of My Fate from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She is related to six-time winner Forever Mine. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

FIRE GLOW ran a decent race on debut over 800m on this course. She returns from a 15-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She will be at home over the 1200m and should make the natural improvement.

RACE 2

WOODLAND RIDGE stayed on at the finish over 1000m on this course last time, but found one too good in the form of Kilmonivaig. He is a much better horse on this surface. The son of Vercingetorix steps back up to 1200m and he is capable of shedding his maiden tag.

SIBERIAN FOX ran a good race on Monday, finishing second over 1300m on the Polytrack. He finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

PRINCIPESSA MIA is an unraced daughter of Pathfork from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie booked to ride. She does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this type of field. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

RACE 3

POPPING CREASE should have finished closer to the winner last time as the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. It must be noted that Medlers Tart has come out and won again since. The son of Master Of My Fate will strip a much fitter horse and in this type of field, he can go one better.

JOE HARMAN is still a maiden after 30 starts, but has decent recent form lines to his credit. He has finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BELLE’S FIRST WAVE finished 4.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is only 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he can earn another cheque for his patrons.

RACE 4

Trainer Gavin Smith holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. BOLD STRIKE ran on well when second in his last start over 1900m on this course. He should have finished closer to Quasimodo that day as his pilot dropped his reins in the closing stages. He has cracked a good draw of two and can return to winning ways.

JASPERO has good consistent form lines to his credit. He tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

HONEST QUEST from the Alan Greeff yard can spoil the Smith party. He was running on when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that Cherry Ano has come out and won again since. He does have to overcome the widest draw, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

RACE 5

I LIKE IT HOT ran a fair race in a Novice Plate over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. She was not beaten far in male company in her penultimate run over this C&D. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from seven starts over this distance. The daughter of What A Winter has dropped to a competitive rating and on best form shown, she can return to winning ways.

ESTHER followed up her maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1200m on this course. Her maiden win over this C&D in a work riders race was encouraging. The daughter of Querari has plenty of scope and if this run has not come too soon, she should pose a threat.

QUICK COUNT won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She showed good pace and won going away. The daughter of Var is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

RACE 6

RED BERRY finished 0.5 lengths behind STOLEN KISS last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won three times and finished third once from six starts over this C&D. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and she can notch up her seventh career victory.

STOLEN KISS stayed on when third over 1000m on the Polytrack last time. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Time Thief will be mowing down the frontrunners.

MEET AT THE GEORGE is having her first run for the Gavin Smith stable. She has won once and finished second three times from seven starts over this distance. S’manga Khumalo does duty and if settled into her new surroundings, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 7

VISION OF WONDER was ultra-impressive when shedding his maiden tag at the third time of asking. He showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The son of Visionaire is a progressive type and he looks to have ability. JP van der Merwe retains the ride and he can follow up.

GLOBAL FORCE won a game race in his last start over 1000m on the Polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He tries the 1200m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

FAIRY KNIGHT made the expected natural improvement when winning his maiden over this C&D. The manner in which he quickened up and drew clear of the opposition was eye-catching. The son of Global View must be included in all bets.

RACE 8

FIERY DUKE ran a good race when third in his local debut over 1200m on the Polytrack. He lost a length leaving the start, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. He has won twice, finished second once and third three times from eleven starts over this distance. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

TRACK COMMANDER did not settle in the early stages of his last start, but stayed on well to finish fourth. His best form has been under S’manga Khumalo and with a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

PICTURE THE MOMENT finished 1 length behind PEDRO last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 5yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners
