Race 1

MIA’S ATHENA produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She showed good speed and stayed on to finish second. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. She would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should give the males a run for their money.

FUTURE FLO should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the closing stages. The son of Futura should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. If keeping on a straight line, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

KUPHOLIWE took on winners in the Listed City Of Cape Town Summer Juvenile Stakes last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He produced a promising debut run over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He takes on Maiden Company and if fit, he should have a say.

Race 2

JADE’S CABERNEIGH ran a decent race when fourth in her last start over this distance on the Polytrack. She showed pace that day and stayed on at the business end. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She is a progressive type and may be the one to side with.

LADIES DAY is still a maiden after 18 starts, but showed good signs of a form return last time. She has finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa retains the ride and the pair must be included in all bets.

COUNTY KILDARE finished 0.4 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 3

STREETSHAVENONAME showed very good improvement in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He set the pace that day and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Rafeef is having his first run for the Paul Lafferty stable. Muzi Yeni does duty and if settled into his new surroundings, he may go one better.

MAJESTIC REIGN has been costly to follow in recent outings. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the closing stages. The son of Time Thief tries the blinkers for the first time and the headgear should keep his mind on the task at hand. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

FIBONACCI took his chances in the Grade 3 City Of Cape Town Cape Of Good Hope Nursery last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has plenty of scope and from pole position, can show improvement.

Race 4

QUASIFORSURE has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He set the pace over 1600m in the Listed Gordon’s Gin Jet Master Stakes last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Pacaya. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck from his wide draw of ten, he should notch up his fifth career victory.

MR MASTER STARTER showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If all went well with his travels, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA finished 3.95 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 5

INTREPID received a bump leaving the starting stalls last time, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. He finished 1.4 lengths behind PATRONAGE in his penultimate outing. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 1400m should suit him well and from his handy draw of four, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

TIZONA was an easy winner in his stable debut over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third twice from eight starts over this distance. He would have come on from the run and can follow up.

PATRONAGE won a good race in his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Four of his six career victories have come over this distance. He jumps from a good draw of two and merits obvious inclusion.

Race 6

SURYAVARMAN ran a decent race in his stable debut over 1400m at the Vaal. He set the pace that day and stayed on at the business end. The son of Querari would have come on from the run and if all went well with his travels, he can follow up in this line-up.

CAVALIERI got up where it matters most when winning his last start over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He meets a similar field this afternoon and is a big threat.

CHEEKY LADDIE returns from a 19-week break, during which time he was gelded. His penultimate run when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth catches the eye. If not in need of this outing, he should have a say in the outcome.

Race 7

FASHIONIGMA challenged strongly in her last start, but found one too good in the form of Dilluh. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is back on the turf and from her good draw of two, she can notch up her second career victory.

EYE CATCHING stayed on strongly when second over 2000m on the Polytrack last time. She takes a slight drop in class and is one of the leading contenders.

BLAZING KISS stayed on when third over 1800m on the turf last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will enjoy the extra 100m on offer. With luck from her awkward draw of eight, she should have a say.

Race 8

ARVERNI KING should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was brushed at the 300m mark and he had to be steadied at the 200m mark. He has finished second twice and third once from five starts on this course. The son of Vercingetorix will enjoy the extra 100m on offer. The blinkers have been removed and with a bit of luck in running, he can go close.

PAPA C fought hard for his last victory over 2400m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Sean Veale retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

CATCH THE TUNE’S last two starts on the Polytrack have been good. He set the pace over 1400m last time and rallied late to finish second. He steps back up in distance and with Muzi Yeni retaining the ride, he should be right there
