RACE 1
MOVE ON OVER showed good speed over this distance on the Polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Xplicit Content. The daughter of Querari was reported to be not striding out that day. She meets the right field and unless one of the first-timers have ability, she should take a power of beating.
GOLDEN PACIFIC hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. She has not shown much promise in her first two outings, but would have strengthened up in her time off the track. If not in need of this outing, she should have improvement to come.
BELLA ATTRICE ran a fair race over this distance on the Polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Willow Magic is a progressive type and may have more to come.
RACE 2
CAPTAIN CASANOVA is better than his last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss. His penultimate run when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was encouraging. He has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. He makes his stable debut and if settled into his new surroundings, he should be the horse to beat.
MIRACULOUS MAN showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D in a work riders contest. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The cheekpieces seem to have done the trick and he is one of the leading contenders.
SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD ran a fair race in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The son of William Longsword may be hard to peg back.
RACE 3
VANDALISE is the best bet on the programme. She stayed on at the finish when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. The daughter of Captain Of All should enjoy racing on the turf track. The blinkers are re-fitted for this race and in this line-up, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
HEART OF ETERNITY is having her first run for the Zietsman Oosthuizen yard. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last start has come out and won since. On her best form shown, she should start her Eastern Cape career on a positive note.
HUNDREDFIFTHAVENUE ran a fair race in her first start for the Cliffie Miller stable. She lost a length at the start and stayed on at the finish. If this run has not come too soon, she should run into the placings.
RACE 4
DREAM STAR has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She was running on when third over this distance on the Polytrack last time. The daughter of Admiral Kitten has cracked a handy draw of five and can shed her maiden tag.
RED CENTRE is better than her last start on the Polytrack. Her two previous outings on this course were good. The mile should be right up her alley and she will throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
PONDEROSA PINE was disappointing in her last start over 1400m. Her penultimate run when second over this distance on the Polytrack was encouraging. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and she cannot be ignored.
RACE 5
MASTER OFAFRICA ran a decent race in his local debut over 1200m on the Polytrack. He raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He should strip a much fitter horse and with Luyolo Mxothwa in the saddle, he may be the one to beat.
BRENDEN JAMES is a winner of his last three starts in the Eastern Cape. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but Sandile Khathi knows him well and he will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
EQUESTRIAN AFFAIR finished 2.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 6
DREAM SCAPE showed good improvement in her last start over 1200m on the Polytrack. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she finished off her race that day was eye-catching. She has finished second twice and third once from five starts on this course. The daughter of Visionaire has cracked a good draw of three and can go one better.
HILARITY found outside betting support when winning her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is the stable elect with Muzi Yeni retaining the ride and should go close to winning.
HOLLY’S VIEW finished 0.5 lengths behind the second selection in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
RACE 7
LUNA HALO got up where it matters most to win the Listed Dahlia Plate over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. She won the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery over 1200m on this course in her penultimate run. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. From pole position, she should take a power of beating.
GOLDEN SICKLE finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
JOY AND PEACE finished 0.6 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. She is also 1kg worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.
RACE 8
KUZNETSOV stayed on when fifth over this distance on the Polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He will enjoy the return to the turf and may be the horse to close off the meeting.
NOTORIX finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
GREAT MELODY showed good speed over 1200m on this course last time, but was outrun late. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. He always gives of his best and may be hard to peg back
