Race 8: PERFECTION (8)

Magic Tips Best Bet

Race 2: JOYOUS JUBILEE (2)
Jockey: R Munger – Trainer: T Laing

JOYOUS JUBILEE showed very good improvement in his local debut over 1000m on this course. The manner in which he rallied in the closing stages was encouraging. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on the son of Caravaggio. He will be at peak fitness and from pole position, he should go one better.

Race 6: ALMAS TOWER (3)
Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: Z Oosthuizen

ALMAS TOWER won a good race in his last start over 1900m on this course. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. Luyolo Mxothwa retains the ride and he can follow up.

Top Bet For Today

Race 7: DIVINE ODYSSEY (1)
Jockey: C Maujean – Trainer: J A Janse van Vuuren

DIVINE ODYSSEY ran a cracker when finishing fourth in the Grade 1 Summer Cup at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won twice from three starts on this course. Chase Maujean retains the ride and if all went well with his travels, he should be too good for this field.

Race 8: PERFECTION (8)
Jockey: J P van der Merwe – Trainer: G Smith

PERFECTION followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this C&D last time. The son of Ideal World is having his first run in Handicap Company and he has plenty of scope. From pole position, he should be the horse to beat.

Value Bet For Today

Race 5: DUKE OF ORANGE (2)
Jockey: J P van der Merwe – Trainer: G Smith

DUKE OF ORANGE showed some signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he hung in the closing stages. The son of Duke Of Marmalade has dropped in the ratings and takes a drop in class. If keeping on a straight line, he is capable of returning to winning ways
