RACE 1
VANDALISE showed good improvement in her local debut over 1000m on this course. She raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Watch Tower. She will love the rise to 1400m and with a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she should be the one to beat in this field.
FIRE GLOW showed signs of needing her comeback run over 1200m on the turf. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If seeing out the 1400m, she should be one of the leading contenders.
RED LOVE finished 2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
RACE 2
THREE ROCKS produced a promising debut effort over this distance on the turf. She raced from just off the pace and rallied late to finish second. She would have come on from the run and if suited to the polytrack, she should take a power of beating.
SAVIC finished 3.15 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
TIME FOR KATIE is an unraced daughter of Time Thief from the Gavin Smith yard with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle. She is related to three-time winner All The Time. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
RACE 3
GREEN FALCON is one of the better bets on the card. He ran a good race when second over this distance on the turf last time. He raced from a handy position that day, but found one too good in the form of Bournemouth. He has no issues with the Polytrack and can shed his maiden tag.
SJAMBOK finished 0.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
LAW COURT finished 1 length behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. With luck in running, he should be competitive.
RACE 4
PRINCIPESSA MIA ran a positive race on debut over 1200m on the turf. She was all at sea but once finding her feet, she stayed on nicely at the finish. She would have come on from the run and if not too green around the turn, she can win with the natural improvement that is expected.
REGGIES GIRL showed good improvement in her last start over 1200m on this course. She set the pace, but found one too good in the form of Executor. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
GLITTERING BOOTS finished 2.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
RACE 5
INHERIT THE RAIN finished 0.75 lengths behind WHATEVER NEXT last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice and finished second twice from seven starts over this C&D. Richard Fourie steps into the saddle and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
WHATEVER NEXT showed good signs of a form return in the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five last time. If confirming his recent improvement, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN finished 1.75 lengths behind CAPTAIN MORISCO last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
RACE 6
This is a weak Merit Rated 66 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is TIME CHASER from the Alan Greeff stable. She showed good signs of a form return in her last start over 1000m on the turf. She showed good speed and stayed on at the finish. She takes a slight drop in class and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she may be the one to side with.
VICTORY BELLE is having her first run for the Gavin Smith stable. She has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this distance. Her best form was on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack and if settled into her new surroundings, she should pose a threat.
BIG SKY COUNTRY ran a good race in her last start over this distance on the turf track. Yuzae Ramzan retains the ride and if repeating that effort, she can earn.
RACE 7
EUPHORIC stayed on strongly when second over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Equestrian Affair. He has won once, finished second four times and third once from eight starts over this C&D. He has cracked a good draw of three and can notch up his seventh career victory.
SILVER STARDUST finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
TRACK COMMANDER has fair recent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when fourth over 1400m on the turf last time. He has had hardly any luck with draws, but gets the services of S’manga Khumalo who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
RACE 8
ANGELSEA was running on when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. It must be noted that Rainbow Thief has come out and won again since. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on her and back against her own sex, she may be the one to beat.
SPLASH OF GREEN finished 2.8 lengths behind BADRAH last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from her wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
STATE OF MIND has had excuses in her last two starts, but has run creditable races. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She is in a good space and must be included in all bets
