WINNING GRACE showed very good improvement when second in her last start over this distance on the turf. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and if confirming her recent improvement, she can go one better in this line-up.

EXCLUSIVELY YOURS‘ last two starts have been fair. She raced from a handy position over 1300m last time, but lacked extra in the firing line. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade will enjoy the drop to 1200m and she may be the horse to fill the exacta spot. 

STAGE PLAY finished 1.6 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. Her penultimate run when finishing second over this C&D catches the eye. If finding the form of that race, she should have a say.

RACE 2

FIERY CLIFFS was running on when third over this C&D last time. She had to overcome a wide draw and the manner in which she ran on at the finish was encouraging. She meets the right field this afternoon and can shed her maiden tag.

 FIRE CHASER has produced two fair runs to date. The manner in which she finished off both those outings suggests that she will love the rise to 1600m. She has plenty of scope and is one of the leading contenders.

AFRODITE ran a decent race when third over this C&D last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Querari and she can finish in the placings.

RACE 3

WILDEST DREAMS was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. She set the pace and found more to quicken away from the field. She has won twice, finished second four times and third twice from ten starts over this C&D. The daughter of Dynasty meets a similar field this afternoon and she can follow up.

HEARTSEASE finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned.

 However, WILDEST DREAMS won easier than the margin suggests and she may still have the upper hand. AERIAL VIEW finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is in a good space and must be included in all bets

RACE 4

GOLD FOR AFRICA raced from a handy position over 1900m last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Popping Crease. The daughter of Gold Standard will love the rise to 2000m and she is having her peak run. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most. 

RAGSAA ran on well when second over 1600m on this course last time. She will love the rise to 2000m and from her good draw of three, she should go close to winning. She is carded to race on 23 June 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored. 

BALLYCOTTON finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. 

RACE 5

GREEN FALCON followed up his maiden win with a good third-place finish over this C&D last time. He was slow into stride, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

SILVER STARDUST has decent consistent form lines to his credit. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from eight starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

SILVERY BLUE was caught late when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She jumps from a good draw of two and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 6

EUPHORIC is better than his last start over 2200m against stronger company. His three starts prior to that outing were good. Three of his six career victories have come over this distance. The 7yo gelding takes a drop-in class and he is capable of returning to winning ways. 

WAZ WOUTER followed up his maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1200m on the turf. He will love the return to the polytrack and if seeing out the 1400m, he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

GUNSMOKE has good consistent form lines to his credit. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be steadied at the 400m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. With luck in running, he should be competitive. 

RACE 7

VIHZOE‘S MAGIC is better than her last start over 1400m. Her penultimate run when second over this C&D was encouraging. She tries the blinkers this afternoon which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She takes a slight drop-in class and may be the one to side with. 

GLASS SHOES finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. 

QUICK COUNT is better than her last start on the turf. She has won twice, finished second three times and third four times from 16 starts on this course. She runs well for Richard Fourie and merits obvious inclusion. 

RACE 8

GREAT MELODY won a good race in his last start over this C&D. He showed good speed and found more where it matters most. The son of Great Britain received a five-pound penalty for that victory. He takes a drop back in class and despite his big mass of 61.5kgs, he should be hard to peg back. 

COASTAL PATH finished 4 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result

 MISS ROSE ran a good race when second in her last start over this C&D. She has won once, finished second three times and third once from eight starts over this C&D. She jumps from a good draw of three and should give the males a run for their money
