BET HERE ON THE DURBAN JULY

Race 1

DIAMOND ROCK has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He stayed on well over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Zoomie. The son of Erupt should have no issues with the drop to 1200m and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

NOON DAY GUN ran a good race in his comeback run over 1000m on this course. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he had to be steadied at the 250m mark. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 1200m. With a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

SPEED RACER ran a good race when second in his last start over 1000m on this course. He is a progressive type and if keeping on a straight line, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 2

REMEMBER MY NAME has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He should have won his last start as he hung in the final 250m. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Querari will be at peak fitness and in this line-up, he can go one better.

STEADFAST ran a decent race on debut over 1000m on this course. He was slow into stride, but finished his race off nicely. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and will love the rise to 1200m. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

DOUBLE OLYMPIC is an unraced son of Twice Over from the Brett Crawford yard with Luyolo Mxothwa in the saddle. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.

Race 3

CHARLIE CROKER has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He was running on when second over this C&D last time. He has won twice and finished second three times from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Myboycharlie will strip much fitter and from his good draw of four, he can notch up his third career victory.

FUTURE TURN won his last start over 1600m easier than the official margin suggests. He has placed over this C&D in the past. The son of Futura is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

BARDOLINO finished 1 length behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. The son of Oratorio carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and must be included in all bets.

Race 4

BEREAVE has good recent form lines to his credit. He cost himself winning the Grade 3 Champagne Stakes last time as he hung in the final 400m. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won twice, finished second three times and third twice from nine starts over this C&D. If keeping on a straight line, he should return to winning ways.

SPEED MACHINE stayed on when fifth over 1400m last time. He finished 0.4 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 3.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

MUFASA is a winner of his last three starts. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break which may have done him the world of good. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and if fit, he should be competitive.

Race 5

BALTIC SECRET ran a good race when fourth in the Grade 3 Winter Nursery last time. She was still green in running that day, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Querari tries the 1200m and if allowed to use her action in front, she may be hard to peg back.

DUMBLEDORE finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

UNDERWORLD won a good race over 1000m last time. He showed good pace, found another kick and won going away. The son of Querari does take on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 6

OCTOBER MORN ran a good race when second in the Grade 3 Winter Nursery last time. The manner in which she ran on at the business end that day was eye-catching. The daughter of Trippi will love the rise to 1200m and with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle, she should be the one to beat.

SUMMER LILY was ultra- impressive when winning on debut over this C&D. She was slow into stride, but quickened up well and won going away. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight could be anything and she can remain unbeaten.

SIDDELEY is the stable companion of the second choice. She set the pace over 1400m last time, but was caught late. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber will enjoy the drop back to 1200m and she may be hard to peg back.

Race 7

GOLD POKER GAME should have finished closer to the winner in the Listed WSB Ladies Mile last time as she was cramped for galloping room at the 150m mark. The daughter of Gold Standard finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. With a bit of luck in running, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

WHO DO YOU LOVE is the stable companion of the top choice. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1800m. She is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

FUTURE GIRL finished 0.7 lengths behind LADY SILVANO last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 8

ITSRAININGWILLIAM set the pace over 1800m in the Grade 3 WSB Legal Eagle Stakes last time and lasted long enough. He is likely to adopt the same tactics from the widest draw and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

MASTER REDOUTE finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. He is 1kg better off at the weights today. He jumps from pole position and will be involved in the fight to the finish.

TOP QUALITY is a winner of his last two starts. He ran on strongly over 1600m last time and won with a ton in hand. The son of Dynasty is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 9

ENEMY TERRITORY finished 0.5 lengths behind MAGNETIC DIME last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line. If jumping on terms, she can go one better. She is carded to race on 22 June 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

MAGNETIC DIME showed good speed when winning her last start over this C&D. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. Corne Orffer retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

WHERE‘S THE PARTY finished 0.8 lengths behind the second choice in the race referred to above. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. She is carded to race on 22 June 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be followed.

Race 10

ELUSIVE TRADER finished 0.75 lengths behind TCHAIKOVSKY last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times and finished second once from nine starts over this C&D. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he can return to winning ways.

ROD THE MOD finished 0.95 lengths behind TCHAIKOVSKY in the race referred to above. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around.

TCHAIKOVSKY won a good race in his last start over 1000m on this course. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. Morne Winnaar retains the ride and the pair cannot be ignored
