She has finished second twice from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of Visionaire meets the right field and she can shed her maiden tag.

CHERE FOR ME is better than her last start suggests as the jockey reported something to be amiss. She won a good race in her penultimate start in the Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes over 1400m on the turf. The 16-week break would have done her the world of good. She tries the polytrack for the first time and if suited to the surface, she should notch up her fourth career victory.

BELLE OF BELIZE produced a very good local debut effort over this distance on the turf. She ran on strongly and challenged all the way to the line. She has won four times, finished second twice and third once from eight starts over this distance. The daughter of Ideal World will strip a much fitter horse today and in this company, she can go one better.
Race 7: MHLABENI (1)
Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: D McKenzie
MHLABENI is one of the better bets on today’s card. He has good consistent form lines to his credit. He set the pace over 1400m on the turf, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Bold Resolve. He has won twice from three starts over this C&D. He is likely to have his own way in front once again and can notch up his fifth career victory.

MEENEERA ran a good race when finishing second over this distance on the turf. She raced from a handy position, moved up well but was caught late by Alaskan Fate. Two of her three career victories have come over this C&D. With a bit of luck from her wide draw of eleven, she should give the males a run for their money
