Race 1
MOON HARVEST has finished fourth in his last three starts, the latest of which was over 1100m on this course. He lost two lengths at the start last time, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Crusade was reported to be coughing that day. He will be suited to the step up to 1400m and with Muzi Yeni in the saddle, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
L’ULTIMO should have won his last start as he hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CAPTAIN CORRUPT finished 0.4 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
Race 2
STEALTH ATTACK has not finished too far off the winner in her last three starts. She raced from a handy position over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of Wylie Hall jumps from a good draw of two and can get it right this afternoon.
MISSION ROCKS stayed on when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and if confirming her recent improvement, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
TASTE MAKER showed signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. She does jump from the widest draw but with luck in running, she can earn another cheque for her patrons.
Race 3
DONTSTOPMENOW is the best bet on the programme. He ran a creditable race when third in his last start over 1600m on the turf. It must be noted that Aerial Display has come out and won again since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is progressive and should have no issues with the rise to 1800m. If suited to the Polytrack, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
DUKE OF AFRICA ran a good race when third in his comeback run over 1600m on this course. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The son of Duke Of Marmalade finished second in his only C&D attempt and he is one of the leading contenders.
THE GREEN GALLANT is the stable companion of the second choice. He has decent consistent form lines to his name. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 4
BANZAI PIPELINE has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. The 5yo gelding takes a slight drop in class and he will be mowing down the frontrunners. He is capable of notching up his fifth career victory.
SYX HOTFIX ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1700m on this course. The son of Flower Alley returns from a well-deserved 13-week break. He has won three times and finished second once from six starts on this course. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.
STRAIGHT UP was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1900m on this course. He finished 0.9 lengths behind the second choice, three runs ago. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
Race 5
HATTA finished 0.85 lengths behind BIRDWATCHER last time. She is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome her awkward draw without using up too much energy. The 5yo mare can notch up her third career victory.
BLUSH OF DAWN finished 0.8 lengths behind BIRDWATCHER in the race referred to above. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and should also turn the form around.
BIRDWATCHER won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She received a three-pound penalty for the victory. Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and she merits obvious inclusion.
Race 6
PREEMPTIVE STRIKE has decent recent form lines to his credit. He should have won last time as he hung in the closing stages. He is versatile and the widest draw should not pose a concern. He is in a good space and can return to winning ways.
PARMENION finished 1.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He will strip a much fitter horse and from pole position, should be involved in the fight to the finish.
HIGH VELOCITY is the stable companion of the second choice. He is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. Siphesihle Hlengwa takes the 2.5kgs off his back once again and he can notch up the hat-trick.
Race 7
BLESS ME FRED ran a good race when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, against stronger. He lost a length at the start, but showed good speed before getting touched off by Quest For The Best who has come out and won again since. The son of Global View takes a drop in class and with Rachel Venniker back in the saddle, he can go one better.
PURPLE OPERATOR took the lead at the 200m mark last time, but was outrun late by Gimme A Rainbow. He has won once and finished second twice from four starts over this C&D. Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.
LESLIES PATHTOFAME ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1100m on this course. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and if fit, he can follow up.
Race 8
VALIENTE has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He returns from a 10-week break which would have done him the world of good. All five of his career victories have come over this C&D. If not in need of the run, he should be the one to beat.
RENAISSANCE MAN fought hard in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, but was touched off by Hooves Of Troy. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. He is having his peak run and should be involved in the fight to the finish.
TRIBUTE TO YOU won a very good race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He does take a rise in class, but may still be ahead of the handicapper and can follow up
