Race 1

This is a competitive Juvenile Plate for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is READY TO FLY from the Mike de Kock stable. She was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag at the third time of asking over this C&D. She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and may be the one to side with.

ALTO ALEX ran on powerfully when winning her maiden over this C&D. She has cracked a good draw of two and if this run has not come too soon, she can follow up.

MY CHERIE AMOUR has taken on older rivals in her last two starts. She should have finished closer to the winner in both those outings. Keagan de Melo has opted to ride the daughter of Canford Cliffs over LADY HEIST which is interesting. With a bit of luck in running, she should be competitive.

Race 2

VASILIKOS ran a fair race in his last start over 1200m on the turf. He showed good guts when winning his maiden in his penultimate run over this distance. The son of Querari is the best weighted runner in this contest. He is having his first run for the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable and if settled into his new surroundings, he should be the horse to beat.

RENAISSANCE MAN followed up his maiden win with a decent fourth-place finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

LAZULI has fair form since winning her maiden. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. She gets the services of top jockey Richard Fourie and in this line-up, can place.

Race 3

I’VE GOT WINGS has shown improvement in her last two starts over this C&D with 4kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi in the saddle. The daughter of Ideal World is back against Maiden Company and with just 50.5kgs on her back, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

LET’S GET TOGETHER is better than his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. His first three career outings with apprentice Rachel Venniker in the saddle were encouraging. He tries the polytrack for the first time and if suited to the surface, he should pose a threat.

CANNATONIC was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m. His penultimate effort when finishing second over this C&D catches the eye. He is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 4

COUNT MARSH is one of the better bets on today’s card. He set the pace over 1200m last time and kept going well to keep all challengers at bay. The tongue-tie has done the trick on the 4yo gelding and he can follow up.

FREEDOM’S FIRE is a filly taking on the males. She set the pace over this C&D last time, but was outrun late. She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

MONSOON KENNY stayed on when having to overcome an awkward draw over 1200m on this course. He has cracked a good draw of two and with 4kgs claiming apprentice Donald Geerthsen in the saddle, he should return to best form.

Race 5

LADY YUSRA was unlucky not to have won her last start over this C&D as she was awkwardly placed at the 300m mark and carried inwards late by the winner. She has won once and finished second four times from eight starts over this distance. The daughter of Silvano takes a slight drop in class and with a bit of luck in running, can notch up her third career victory.

CRAZY BLUES showed good guts when winning her last start over 1600m on this course. She finished 0.4 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.

BELLA SICCOME stayed on when third over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D and merits healthy respect.

Race 6

MAGIC IN MOTION ran a fair race against stronger company over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She was reported to be coughing that day. Her penultimate run when winning over this C&D catches the eye. She was settled at the rear of the field and ran on powerfully. The daughter of Var takes a drop in class and she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

GREEN DREAM was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1400m. The drop to 1200m is no concern as she has won once and finished second three times from seven starts over this C&D. She is in a good space and can follow up.

NOT NOW PUSSYCAT ran on from last when winning her last start over this C&D. She meets a similar type of field today and with just 50.5kgs on her back, she should go close.

Race 7

KINGSMEADS KRYSTAL was a surprise winner in her last start over 1400m on this course. The ear muffs have done the trick on the daughter of Visionaire. She takes a drop in class and with 4kgs claiming apprentice Mfanelo Zuma retaining the ride, she should follow up.

LADY MACBETH is better than her last start as she was reported to be coughing. She has won once and finished second twice from four starts over this C&D. The daughter of William Longsword takes a drop in class and should be one of the leading contenders.

ROCK ON CAPTAIN showed good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. She has dropped to a competitive rating and if switching off early, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

BINGIN BEACH stayed on when finishing fourth over 1800m on this course last time. The daughter of Elusive Fort gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She takes a big drop in class and from pole position, should be the horse to beat.

ROY’S ROCKER set the pace over this C&D last time, but was caught late. She finished 0.9 lengths behind COZY DOT COM that day. She is 7kgs better off at the weights this afternoon and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

LADY TIPTREE’S last two starts have been good. She has dropped to a competitive rating and from her good draw of four, she should earn another cheque
