Race 1

I LIKE IT HOT has been costly to follow to date, but she has earned a cheque in all three runs. The daughter of What A Winter is having her first run on this course which should suit her running style. She tries the blinkers for the first time and if the headgear has the desired effect, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

SWISS PARADISE is an unraced daughter of What A Winter from the Tony Rivalland yard with Muzi Yeni in the saddle. She is related to two-time winner Zernez. If not too green, she should get her career off to a positive start. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

NAMIBSROOS has had excuses in her last three starts. The drop to the 1000m may suit her well. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and in this line-up, she is capable of finishing in the first three.

Race 2

TARTARUS has finished second in his last three starts. He showed good pace over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time and stayed on behind Ndaka. He will enjoy the return to 1200m and back on a straight course, he may be hard to peg back.

ARIVIDICIO finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today. He will love the extra furlong on offer and should strip a much fitter horse.

IMPERIAL ORDER produced a promising debut effort over this C&D, three weeks ago. He was green in running that day and the saddle was reported to have slipped. It must be noted that the horse that finished second has come out and won since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

Race 3

BROADWAY GIRL was in need of her comeback run over 1100m on the Polytrack last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to the mile and the blinkers should keep her mind on the task at hand. She will strip much fitter and from her good draw of two, she should take a power of beating.

COFFEEBERRY received a bump leaving the starting stalls last time, but stayed on to finish third. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SEA CRUISE is still a maiden after 22 starts, but has returned to form in her last two outings. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and if jumping on terms, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

CENTRAL CITY hails from the visiting Paul Peter stable. Despite jumping outwards when leaving the start last time, he raced from a handy position before staying on to finish second. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of The United States is a progressive type and can go one better.

ARVERNI KING made the expected natural improvement when second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and he should have more to come over the extra furlong on offer.

RED MAGICIAN fought hard in his last start over 1200m, but was touched off by Cheeky Laddie. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is drawn widest of all which is a slight concern, but he cannot be ignored.

Race 5

AFTER THE RAIN has decent recent form lines to his credit. He was reported to be cut into on his right hind leg after his last outing over 1000m on the Polytrack. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has finished third over this distance in the past. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and he should be hard to peg back on best form shown.

PARTY TIME was an easy winner over 1200m last time. He won his only attempt over this C&D. He shouldn’t be too far off the top choice turning for home and will be competitive.

DONALD MCDONALD ran a good race in his last start over 1600m on the Polytrack. He won his only attempt on this course. The son of Ideal World is better suited to further, but is in a good space and merits obvious inclusion.

Race 6

LUCKY MISS was caught in the shadow of the post when third over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo steps back into the saddle and if keeping on a straight line, she should notch up her third career victory.

EMERALD PRINCESS ran on powerfully when winning her last start over this distance at Turffontein. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. If all went well with her travels, she can notch up the hat-trick.

CONCHITA finished 1.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 7

CALULO finished 3.2 lengths behind ANCIENT EPIC last time. She is 6kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. Two of her four career victories have come over this C&D. The blinkers remain fitted and she may be the one to side with.

VIVID JET won a good race in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Visionaire meets a similar line-up this afternoon and she can follow up.

MAQUETTE finished 0.7 lengths behind ANCIENT EPIC last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the tables. She finished 1.1 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 8

PASSAGE OF POWER finished 1.1 lengths behind LORD WYLIE last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished 1.3 lengths behind AFRICAN SKYLINE in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. The 4yo gelding can return to winning ways.

LORD WYLIE won a good race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from seven starts over this C&D. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Donald Geerthsen retains the ride and the pair should go close.

AFRICAN SKYLINE showed good guts to win his last start over this distance on the Polytrack, He received a four-pound penalty for that victory and against similar company, he should run a big race
