Race 1

SHOTGUN WILLIE showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D, under Callum Dixon. He set the pace, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Rubertus. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of William Longsword. He jumps from pole position and can go one better.

ASPECT finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

MISTY CLIFFS set the pace over this C&D last time, but was caught late. She jumps from a handy draw of three and should give the males a run for their money. She is carded to race on 18 June 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 2

YAMADORI produced an encouraging debut effort over this C&D. He raced from just off the pace and despite racing green, the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Lancaster Bomber would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better.

SILVER CROWN won a good race in his last start over this C&D. He showed good speed and found extra where it matters most. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He is the only winner in this contest and merits healthy respect.

KING VISERYS finished 4.65 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result

Race 3

GIMMETHEWALTZ produced an encouraging debut effort over this C&D. She raced from just off the pace and stayed on nicely to finish fourth. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle, she may be the one to side with.

QUICK TRIP ran a good race when second over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She is carded to race on 18 June 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

AMONG THE CLOUDS showed good improvement in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is a progressive type and with Richard Fourie doing duty, she should have more to come.

Race 4

WITBLITS caught the eye when third over this C&D last time. She took time to find her feet, but finished her race off strongly. The daughter of Danon Platina would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Richard Fourie takes the ride and she is the horse to beat.

STRATA‘S last three starts have been good. The manner in which she has been finishing off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1200m. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

RAINBOW LORIKEET finished 3 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

TRIPTOTHEWOODS‘ last two starts have been fair. The manner in which she finished off her last outing suggests that she will love the rise to 1200m. The daughter of Trippi has plenty of scope and in this line-up, she can shed her maiden tag.

AMETHYSTIC finished 0.4 lengths behind LADY RENEE last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If confirming her recent improvement, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

LADY RENEE showed good speed over this C&D last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Apple Catcher. She is in a good space and should run another honest race.

Race 6

NAUSHON was not disgraced when third against winners over 1400m last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The son of Dynasty would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is back in Maiden Company and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

SPIRIT‘S UNITE ran a good race when third over 1400m on this course last time. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he was bumped at the 400m mark. He is carded to race on 18 June 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

RED WILLIAM‘S last three starts have been good. He finished second in his penultimate run over this C&D. The son of William Longsword is versatile and merits healthy respect.

Race 7

MUSICAL ARTS won a good race when shedding her maiden tag at the second time of asking over this C&D. She raced from just off the pace, quickened up well and kept all challengers at bay. The daughter of Oratorio takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

PORQUE TE VAS showed good speed over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by She’s My Captain. She meets a similar field this afternoon and with Grant van Niekerk retaining the ride, she may be hard to peg back.

WHERE‘S THE PARTY has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. The daughter of Pathfork will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 8

INARA‘S DYNASTY returns from a lengthy 34-week break. She is better than her last start over 1400m. Her two previous victories were ultra-impressive. She is a filly who has ability and the drop to 1100m should not pose a concern. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if not in need of this outing, she should be too good for this field.

SPYWING finished 0.2 lengths behind MISS MARGUERITE last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 1100m is right up her alley and she should run a big race.

FUN ZONE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Aldo Domeyer takes the ride and the combination merit healthy respect

Race 9

BENJAMIN finished 0.2 lengths behind DANCE VARIETY last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this C&D. He is in a good space and will be involved in the fight to the finish.

BONANZA challenged strongly in his last start over this C&D, but was touched off by Night Tiger. He carries another handy galloping mass of 53kgs and should be competitive.

DANCE VARIETY‘S last two starts have been good. The removal of the tongue-tie seems to have done the trick. Craig Zackey returns to the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.

Race 10

TYPEFACE finished 0.5 lengths behind ROYAL INVITATION last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If jumping on terms, she is capable of notching up her second career victory.

ROYAL INVITATION has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She has won twice and finished third twice from eight starts on this course. She always gives of her best and is one of the leading contenders.

POORLITTLERICHGIRL was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag over 1800m last time. She does take on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand
