Race 1

CALLMEGETRIX has finished third in both her starts to date. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung outwards in the closing stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1400m and if keeping on a straight line, she should shed her maiden tag.

RED MOON RISING showed good improvement when fourth in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.

RAINBOW LORIKEET ran a good race when second over 1200m last time. She showed good speed, but found one too good in the form of Lady Look Alike. The daughter of Querari tries the 1400m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be competitive.

Race 2

HARAJUKU has produced two decent efforts over 1200m to date. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. The son of Danon Platina will love the step up to the mile. If jumping on terms, he should be the one to beat in this line-up.

OZARK stayed on when fourth over 1400m on this course, nine weeks ago. The son of Oratorio will be at home over the mile and should be at peak fitness. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

RENOWNED has shown improvement in each of his outings to date. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last start has come out and won since. He finished 3.25 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate effort. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 3

JURY DUTY‘S last two starts have been good. She stayed on when third over 1000m on this course last time. The daughter of Greys Inn returns from a well-deserved 13-week break. She has won over this C&D in the past. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and if fit, she can notch up her fifth career victory.

SEEKING PEACE showed good signs of a form return in her last start over 1200m on this course. The manner in which she ran on at the finish that day was encouraging. She takes a slight drop-in class and is one of the leading contenders.

CIOLLUM‘S DELIGHT ran a fair race in her comeback run over 1000m on this course. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Sean Veale takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 4

AMONG THE CLOUDS has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She showed good speed over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by Born Ready. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber is a progressive type and in this field, she can go one better.

LOOK FORWARD has decent recent form lines to her credit. She was reported to have cast a shoe in running last time which didn’t help her chances. Grant van Niekerk retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

LADY RENEE finished 1.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 5

DEAN STREET finished 0.85 lengths behind RAGNAR LOTHBROK last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times and finished third twice from six starts over this C&D. The son of Master Of My Fate will be at peak fitness and can return to winning ways.

PIROSHKA finished 2.1 lengths behind RAGNAR LOTHBROK last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough to turn the form around. The son of Quasillo will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

RAGNAR LOTHBROK is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1000m on this course. He has gone up 11 pounds in his last two starts. The son of Vercingetorix is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 6

MASKED VIGILANTE ran on powerfully when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Vercingetorix meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can follow up.

BENJAMIN finished 2.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He finished 0.6 lengths behind NIGHT TIGER in his penultimate run. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

CAFE CULTURE finished 1.8 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 7

PAPER TRAIL stayed on at the finish over this C&D last time after losing 5 lengths when leaving the start. His two previous outings in this class were good. Bernard Fayd’Herbe steps into the saddle and if jumping on terms, he can win a race of this nature.

KIMBALL O’HARA should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was cramped for galloping room in the closing stages. He continues to drop in the ratings and with a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice

VERONIQUE finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice in her last start. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. The daughter of Pathfork will be staying on at the business end

Race 8

Trainer Brett Crawford holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first two past the post. INSIDE STORY finished 0.7 lengths behind LEGAL CHITCHAT last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he may be able to get the best of the son of Dynasty.

LEGAL CHITCHAT stayed on when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that Future Turn has come out and won again since. Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and he merits healthy respect.

GIMME MORE TIME ran a fair race over this C&D last time. He returns from a 10-week break which may have done him the world of good. If putting his best foot forward, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 9

WINTER PEARL is better than his last start over 1200m as he raced without cover and took a keen hold in the early stages. He returns from an 11-week break which may have done him the world of good. The son of What A Winter should love the drop to 1000m and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he may be the one to side with in this line-up.

FINAL MOVE showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. If not in need of the run, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

WORDSWORTH‘S last two starts have been fair. He has won once, finished second four times and third twice from 22 starts over this C&D. He runs well for Joshwin Solomons and may be the one to cause the upset
