Race 1
DIAMOND ROCK is a progressive colt who has shown improvement in each of his outings to date. He stayed on when second over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Zoomie. He does have an awkward draw of nine to contend with, but gets the services of Aldo Domeyer who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
HARAJUKU has produced two decent efforts to date. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m and with luck in running, he should be competitive.
SPIRIT’S UNITE finished 0.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
Race 2
ANALYTIC has shown good improvement in each of her races to date. She rallied late when second over this C&D last time. The daughter of Gold Standard is back in Maiden Company and she can go one better here.
WOMAN’S WORLD finished 0.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. She is versatile and with luck in running, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.
SUNSHINE DAY should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was cramped for galloping room at the 200m mark. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The daughter of Potala Palace is progressive and must be included in all bets.
Race 3
RED MOON RISING showed good improvement when fourth in her last start over this C&D. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. She found betting support which suggests that she was showing good work at home. It must be noted that the horse that finished third has come out and won since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and with luck in running, she can go close to winning.
MISTY CLIFFS set the pace over this C&D last time, but was caught late by Hang Out The Stars. She is likely to adopt the same tactics and can go one better.
LOOK FORWARD has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She will love the rise to 1400m and must be included in all bets.
Race 4
INSIDE STORY finished 1.95 lengths behind BARDOLINO last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
BARDOLINO raced from a prominent position over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish second. He is drawn widest of all in barrier 12 which is an obvious concern. With luck in running, he should pose a massive threat.
LEGAL CHITCHAT finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection in the race referred to above. He is only 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 5
OCTOBER MORN caught the eye when second in the Grade 3 Winter Nursery last time. The manner in which she ran on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of Trippi will love the return to 1200m. She has class about her and in this field, she should take a power of beating.
SUMMER LILY was an easy winner on debut over this C&D. She was slow into stride, but quickened up well and won going away. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight takes on stronger, but she could be anything and should have a say.
UNCONQUERABLE LADY is progressive and won a good race at the third time of asking. She returns from a well-deserved 11-week break during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of Danon Platina should have no issues with the rise to the 1200m and she can earn a cheque.
Race 6
BALTIC SECRET finished 1.75 lengths behind DISTANT WINTER last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Querari will love the step up to 1200m and if allowed to stride in front, she should take a power of beating.
DISTANT WINTER held on where it matters most when winning the Grade 3 Winter Nursery last time. She carries top weight, but has plenty of class and can notch up the hat-trick.
DUMBLEDORE finished 2.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. He shows good pace in his races and if suited to the 1200m, he should be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
Race 7
FIREALLEY set the pace over 1400m on this course last time, but was caught late by Royal Aussie. He has won once and finished second four times from eight starts over this C&D. It is encouraging that Aldo Domeyer steps back into the saddle and from his good draw of three, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
GRINKOV’S last two starts have been good. He finished 1 length behind the top choice in his last start. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
SPEED MACHINE finished 1.55 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may battle to turn the form around. If jumping on terms, he can earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 8
RAISING QUINN finished 2.45 lengths behind AIR OF ROYALTY last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts over this C&D. The daughter of Querari will be mowing down the frontrunners.
AIR OF ROYALTY ran on from last when winning her last start over 1200m. Interestingly, she gets a change of headgear. The daughter of Elusive Fort is in a good space and is one of the leading contenders.
MARY LAMB stumbled leaving the start over this C&D last time, but stayed on at the business end. The daughter of Dynasty takes a drop-in class and if jumping on terms, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 9
WINTER PEARL is better than his last start over 1200m. It must be noted that Night Tiger has come out and won again since. The removal of the blinkers could be the key. His two previous outings were decent. He takes a drop-in class and if putting his best foot forward, he may be the one to cause the upset.
LIKETHECLAPPERS’ last three starts have been fair. He drops back to 1100m and in this type of field, he should have a say in the outcome of this race.
FINAL MOVE showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1000m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. If confirming his recent improvement, he should earn a cheque for his patrons
