TOP BET FOR TODAY

Race 1: FIREALLEY (6)
Jockey: Domeyer A - Trainer: Bass-Robinson

FIREALLEY has shown good improvement in each of his starts to date. He raced from a handy position last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post. The son of Flower Alley should have no issues with the extra distance on offer today and in this type of field, should take a power of beating.

Race 2: SALVATOR MUNDI (10)
Jockey: V.Niekerk G - Trainer: Snaith J

SALVATOR MUNDI showed good improvement in his last start over six furlongs on this course. He was slow into stride that day and finished his race off strongly. The son of Dynasty is bred to enjoy the rise in distance this afternoon. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride from pole position and the pair should find themselves in the winner's enclosure.

Race 3: HALF AND HALF (1)
Jockey: V.Niekerk G  - Trainer: Snaith J

HALF AND HALF ran a good race in his last start over a mile at Durbanville. He produced a strong finish up the straight, but was narrowly beaten. The son of Twice Over is looking for the step up in distance and with a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should be the one they all have to beat.

Race 7: PURPLE CLOUD (2)
Jockey: Domeyer A- Trainer: Bass-Robinson

PURPLE CLOUD was ultra-impressive when winning his maiden over 1250m at Durbanville last time. That was his first start with the ear-muffs fitted and the equipment remains on today. The son of Soft Falling Rain takes on stronger company this afternoon, but he looks to be loaded with ability and may be up to the task at hand.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY

Race 6: SKIDOO (2)
Jockey: Tarentaal L  - Trainer: Reeves P

SKIDOO is much better than his last start at Hollywoodbets Scottsville suggests. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He loves racing over this C&D with a record of four wins, a second and a third-place finish from 14 starts. His last two victories have come under 1.5kg claiming apprentice Liam Tarentaal and the pair should find themselves in the winner's enclosure once again.
