He showed plenty of speed last time, but was caught in the closing stages. He would have strengthened up in his time off the track and unless one of the unraced horses are above average, he should take a power of beating
Race 2: I'M A LADY (6)
Jockey: M Winnaar - Trainer: G Kotzen
I'M A LADY produced a promising debut effort when finishing second over 1250m at Durbanville. She moved up very well that day, but was outrun in the closing stages. She would have come with the experience under her belt and should make the natural improvement. The drop in trip should not pose a concern and she looks to be the one they all have to beat.
Race 6: CRUISE ALONG (3)
Jockey: A Domeyer - Trainer: C BASS-ROBINSON
CRUISE ALONG is one of the better bets on today's card. She ran a good race when finishing third over this c&d last time. She was unlucky not to have won that day as she didn't have the clearest of passages at the top of the straight. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride this afternoon and with a bit of luck in running should be the one they all have to beat.
Race 7: RUSSET AIR (1)
Jockey: S Mbhele - Trainer: C BASS-ROBINSON
RUSSET AIR held on where it matters most when winning that race. He followed that race up with a good third-place finish over six furlongs in the Diadem Stakes. He does have a change of riders today, but he is in good form and looks to be the one they all have to beat.

Jockey: J Solomons - Trainer: Eric Sands
The value bet on the card is ROYAL RETURN from the Eric Sands yard. He has produced two good runs since winning his maiden race over this distance. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time today and if these have the desired effect, he should find himself in the winner's enclosure. He gets the services of capable 4kgs claiming apprentice Joshwin Solomons.
