Race 1
MAURITANIA is better than her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville as she had to overcome a wide draw and was interfered with on the turn. It must be noted that Secret Identity has come out and won a Listed event since. Her debut effort when third over this C&D was encouraging. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and with a bit of luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag.
KNOCKOUT showed good improvement when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. She moved up well, but was outrun late by Kingdom Of Gold. The daughter of Danon Platina is progressive and is one of the leading contenders.
ARVERNI PRINCESS rallied late when fourth over 1100m on debut. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and will enjoy the extra 100m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 2
YANNAKIS produced an encouraging debut effort against winners over 1000m on this course. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on to finish third. The son of Erupt would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. Richard Fourie takes the ride and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.
QUESTION OF FAITH ran a decent race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He returns from a 14-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CANFORD ICE‘S last two starts have been fair, the latest of which was over this distance. The son of Canford Cliffs gives Trent Mayhew his first ride as an apprentice and he should run a positive race.
Race 3
DREAMLAND hails from the visiting Lucky Houdalakis stable. He received a bump leaving the start last time, but showed good pace before getting caught by Raven Black. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Lancaster Bomber. If all went well with his travels, he should go one better.
GALAXY EXPLORER showed good improvement when fourth in his last start over 1400m. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Ideal World should have no issues with the drop to 1200m and he is one of the leading contenders.
KAYGEE‘S DELIGHT was in need of his debut effort over 1000m against winners. He would have come on from the run and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. Apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa takes the 1.5kgs off his back and he should make the natural improvement.
Race 4
This is a competitive Pinnacle Stakes field for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is ALPHABETTY from the Peter Muscutt stable. She ran on strongly when winning her last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Twice Over looks to have class about her and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she can follow up.
LADY TIPTREE cost herself at the start in the Listed KRA East Coast Cup last time. She won a good race in her penultimate start over 1600m on this course. If jumping on terms, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
ICE SUNSATION took on stronger in the Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 last time. She won a good race in her penultimate start over this C&D. She runs well for Robert Khathi and on best form shown, she should have a say.
Race 5
USA‘S HOPE ran a good race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He raced from a handy position, found another kick and rallied late to finish third. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from five starts over this distance. The son of The United States returns to Handicap Company and he can notch up his third career victory.
NAARAH should have finished closer to the winner last time as she had to be steadied at the 400m mark and was reported to be coughing post race. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She has the class to give the males a run for their money.
FATEFUL DAY finished 1 length behind BEECHAMWOOD BOY last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Master Of My Fate will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 6
ARAGOSTA ran a good race when third in the Grade 3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on strongly at the business end. His best form has been under jockey Richard Fourie and from his good draw of two, he should be the one to beat.
SHANGANI is better than his last start in the Grade 3 WSB Gold Bowl as he was reported to be not striding out. He has won four times and finished third once from six starts over this distance. On best form shown, he should go close to winning.
RUNAWAY SONG ran a fair race in his last start over 1400m on this course. He tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can earn another cheque.
Race 7
HOLD MY HAND should have finished closer to the winner in the Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 last time. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will be suited to the 2400m. Richard Fourie takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
DAWNOFANEWDAY has good consistent form lines to her credit. She challenged strongly in the Listed KRA East Coast Cup last time, but found one too good in the form of Time Flies. The daughter of Futura always gives of her best and merits healthy respect.
LIGHT OF THE MOON finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. She is versatile and must be included in all bets.
Race 8
ISIVUNGUVUNGU showed good speed, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition in the Grade 1 Jonsson Workwear Computaform Sprint last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of What A Winter is the class horse in the race and despite his big mass of 62kgs, he should be too good for this field.
IPHIKO may have found the 1200m too far in her last start. She has won five times, finished second once and third once from ten starts over this distance. She will strip much fitter and on best form shown, she should be hard to peg back.
TEMPTING FATE ran a good race in the Listed In Full Flight Handicap last time. He has won three times and finished third once from six starts on this course. He is better suited to further, but has ability and cannot be ignored.
Race 9
BITCOIN BABY raced from a handy position over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Danon Platina is bred to enjoy the step up to the mile. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she can shed her maiden tag.
THEAPPLEOFMYEYE showed improvement in her last start over this C&D. She raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Var is progressive and may have more to come.
ST CLOUD finished 0.2 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line
