Race 1

FEEL THE WIND has produced two fair efforts to date. She showed speed over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that Lock And Key has come out and won again since. The daughter of What A Winter is a progressive type and in this field, she may be the one to side with.

EDGE OF TOMORROW has finished third in her last two starts over 1000m on this course. She steps back up to 1200m and the blinkers have been removed. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ARJUNA is better than her last start against winners. She finished 0.2 lengths behind the second choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the wire.

Race 2

DAPPER set the pace over 1600m on this course last time and stayed on to finish second. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Lancaster Bomber should have no issues with the rise to 1750m. Muzi Yeni is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome his wide draw of ten and he may be hard to peg back.

BURNING MAN raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by The Mikado. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should pose a threat.

KINNIKINNIK stayed on when fourth over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. The son of Act Of War will love the rise to 1750m and the blinkers will keep his mind on the task at hand. He is a progressive type and may have more to come.

Race 3

YELLOW JACKET ran a fair race when fourth over 1400m last time. Her penultimate run when second over 1400m on this course was encouraging. Tristan Godden steps back into the saddle which is encouraging. She tries the 1950m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

FACILE finished 3.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

HURRICANE FLIGHT showed good improvement in her last start over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If confirming her recent improvement, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

FAIZAH ran on strongly when winning her last start over 1750m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Querari meets a similar line-up this afternoon and she can follow up with another victory.

ESCAPOLOGIST finished 0.2 lengths behind HOT STRIKE last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Cole Dicken retains the ride and he will be looking to make amends.

ESCAPE ARTIST finished 1.5 lengths behind HOT STRIKE last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. She jumps from a good draw of three and cannot be ignored.

Race 5

THE REAL PRINCE was clearly in need of his comeback run over this distance on the polytrack. He lost a length leaving the start but stayed on at the finish. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He clearly has class about him and can return to winning ways.

GOOD TRAVELLER’S last two starts have been good. He raced from a handy position over 1400m on the polytrack last time and stayed on at the finish. He is in a good space and is one of the leading contenders.

COMMON GROUNDS showed good speed when third in the Non-Black Type SABC Sport Durban Dash last time. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Pathfork may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

Race 6

GOLD AGENT hails from the visiting Paul Matchett stable. She followed up her maiden victory with a fair sixth-place finish over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. She has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this distance. She takes a drop in class and if all went well with her travels, she should give the males a run for their money.

PURPLE POWAHOUSE stayed on when third over this distance last time. He finished 0.8 lengths behind NORTHERN WARRIOR, five runs ago. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 7yo gelding should earn another cheque for his patrons.

NORTHERN WARRIOR was in need of his comeback run last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He will strip fitter and is a big runner on previous form.

Race 7

MALCOLM’S DREAM raced from a handy position over 1400m last time, moved up well and held on where it matters most. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. She has won three times and finished third once from seven starts on this course. She is in a good space and against similar company, she can follow up.

ZINIKELE should have finished closer to the top choice last time as she had to be steadied and switched at the 200m mark. With a bit of luck in running, she can return to winning ways.

MASCHERINA cost herself winning last time as she over raced in the early stages and shifted away from the crop up the straight. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If switching off early, she should go close.

Race 8

DOWN BY THE RIVER may not have seen out the 1750m last time. His effort when winning over 1600m on this course, three runs ago was eye-catching. He carries a handy galloping mass of 55.5kgs and if putting his best foot forward, he can notch up his third-career victory.

GOLDEN PEACE should have won his last start as he hung inwards in the final 400m. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause. If keeping on a straight line, he should go close to winning.

CYBER TIME stayed on when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. He returns to Handicap Company and from his handy draw of six, he can run into the money
