Race 1: RUN FOR COVER (7)
Jockey: R Munger – Trainer: A Fortune
RUN FOR COVER ran a very good race when finishing second in his comeback run over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. He raced from a handy position, moved up well but was caught late by Ignatius. The son of Erupt would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. He will enjoy the drop to 1450m and in this line-up, is the horse to beat.
Race 5: SISTER LIGHT (2)
Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: S Tarry
SISTER LIGHT was not disgraced in her comeback run over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course, against stronger. The daughter of Visionaire would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 2000m. She takes a drop in class and if not affected by the second run after a rest, she can return to winning ways.
Race 7: QUEEN OF SMOKE (3)
Jockey: R Simons – Trainer: S Pettigrew
This is a weak Merit Rated 71 Handicap and it may play into the hands of the lightly raced QUEEN OF SMOKE. She was given a peach of a ride when winning her maiden at the third time of asking over this distance. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has plenty of scope and from her good draw of three, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 8: TAIKONAUT (2)
Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: R Magner
TAIKONAUT showed signs of needing his comeback run over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The son of Twice Over would have come on from the run and takes a big drop in class. His best form has been under Gavin Lerena and he can notch up his third career victory.

Race 4: KENTALLEN BAY (8)
Jockey: M van Rensburg – Trainer: C Spies
KENTALLEN BAY followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this distance. He set the pace that day, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. The son of Eightfold Path takes a rise in class, but he has ability and should be up to the task at hand. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and can notch up the hat-trick
