Race 1

LESLIES PATHTOFAME showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D, last week. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. Four of his six career victories have come over this C&D. If this run has not come too soon, he can go one better.

GREY OCEAN finished 0.15 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them where it matters most. The 5yo gelding merits healthy respect.

QUIZ MASTER has fair recent form lines to his credit. He had to overcome a wide draw in his last two starts and was reported to be coughing. The son of Silvano has dropped to a competitive rating and he can feature.

Race 2

CAPRIANA finished 0.8 lengths behind DUNYAA last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today which should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once and finished third four times from seven starts over this C&D. From pole position, she should be hard to peg back.

NEW ORLEANS finished 1.2 lengths behind DUNYAA in the race referred to above. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

DUNYAA won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory and against similar company, she can follow up.

Race 3

IF YOU SAY SO showed very good improvement in her last start over this distance on the turf. She set the pace and despite pulling in the early stages, she stayed on strongly at the finish. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and if suited to the Polytrack, she can shed her maiden tag.

SUCH A CRACKER was her own worst enemy over 2000m last time as she overraced in the early stages. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of William Longsword tries the blinkers and if the headgear has the desired effect, she should pose a massive threat.

FRENCH PRINCESS ran a good race when third over 1400m on this course last time. The daughter of Louis The King should enjoy the rise to the mile and if confirming her recent improvement, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

ONE SHOT WONDER finished 0.25 lengths behind UNIQUE POWER last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line. He has dropped to a competitive rating and can return to winning ways.

UNIQUE POWER was doing his best work late when third over this C&D last time. The tongue tie seems to have done the trick on the son of Trippi. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

STAR CRUSADE finished 0.15 lengths behind FEVER last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once and finished second three times from seven starts over this distance. Robert Khathi retains the ride and the pair merit obvious inclusion.

Race 5

FASHIONIGMA followed up her maiden victory with a decent third-place finish over 1900m on this course. She was reported to have overraced that day and she also cast a shoe in running. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back and if switching off early, she may be the one to beat.

MISS LIALAH ran on from last when third over 1600m last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to 1800m. 4kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa retains the ride and she should fight out the finish.

ROY’S ROCKER finished 2.4 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 6

BANZAI PIPELINE’S last two starts have been fair. His effort when finishing third over 1900m, three runs ago catches the eye. He takes a slight drop in class today and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can notch up his fourth career victory.

EXCEEDER was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Elusive Fort is in a good space and can follow up.

EVENTIDOR finished 3.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights which is not enough to turn the form around, but he should finish closer. It is encouraging that the blinkers have been re-fitted for this outing.

Race 7

MAXIUMUS has good recent form lines to his credit. He set the pace over this C&D last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Camora. In this type of field, he is likely to have his own way in front and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

RALPH THE RASCAL was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. He lost a length at the start, but finished his race off strongly and got up where it matters most. He takes a drop in class and will be assisted by the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice, Siphesihle Hlengwa.

BOTZ has decent recent form lines to his name. He fought hard in his last start over this distance on the turf, but found one too good in the form of Eddie The Mover. He tries the polytrack for the first time and if suited, he should run a big race.

Race 8

VENTUROUS ran a fair race in her last start against stronger company. She was ultra-impressive when winning her penultimate effort over 1600m on this course. The daughter of Visionaire has won once and finished third twice from six starts over this C&D. She takes a drop in class and from her good draw of three, she may be the one to side with.

ROYAL KITTY challenged strongly in her last start, but found one too good in the form of Let It Snow. She is better suited to this distance and from her good draw of two, she is one of the leading contenders.

CAPRICCIO was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this C&D. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory and against similar company, she can follow up
