WORLD’S BEST produced a promising debut effort over 1450m on the Classic course. He understandably raced green, but once finding his feet, he finished his race off strongly. The son of Ideal World would have gained from the experience and he should love the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

LIGHT OF DAY followed up her maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. She lost a length at the start, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should strip much fitter and if jumping on terms, she may be the one to beat.
Race 7: DROP OF TIME (5)

DROP OF TIME ran a fair race in his last start over 1700m on the Classic course. His maiden victory over 1000m, three runs ago was eye-catching. The son of Pomodoro carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and with Keagan de Melo in the saddle, he is capable of returning to winning ways.
Race 8: CORVETTE CAPTAIN (5)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: J Janse van Vuuren
CORVETTE CAPTAIN is one of the better bets on today’s card. He ran on powerfully when winning his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The 6yo gelding meets a similar type of field today and he can follow up.

She is unbeaten under Chase Maujean and the combination are capable of keeping that record intact
