Race 1

GREEN BUBBLES stayed on when third over 1450m on the Inside course last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. In this type of field, she may be the one to beat. 

PRIMROSE PATH stayed on at the finish over 1160m last time, but found one too good in the form of Bavarian Beauty. She tries the 1400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should pose a threat. 

SHAMPIMPI is better than her last start as she was reported to be coughing. It must be noted that Gimmeanotherchance has come out and won again since. If finding the form of her debut run, she should be involved in the fight to the finish

Race 2

VIVA DE JANEIRO‘S last two starts have been good. He raced from just off the pace over 1160m last time and stayed on to finish third. The son of Oratorio should have no issues with the step up to 1400m. He meets the right field this afternoon and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

ARCHIMIDES stayed on when second over 1600m on the Vaal Classic course last time. The drop to 1400m should not pose a concern and he should be one of the leading contenders. 

COMMAND PILOT is an unraced son of Lancaster Bomber from the Alec Laird stable with JP van der Merwe in the saddle. He is related to two-time winner Quantum Theory. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 3

BANHA BRIDGE is one of the better bets on today’s card. He raced from a handy position over this distance on the Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Total Surrender. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. He takes a drop-in class and can return to winning ways. 

OVER TWO YOU is better than his last start as he raced wide around the turn. He won a game race in his penultimate outing over 1800m at the Vaal. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siyanda Sosibo steps back into the saddle and he may be the one to fill the exacta spot. 

BARMAID showed signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Jackson carries another light mass and if repeating that effort, she should give the males a run for their money. 

Race 4

Trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. SILENT WAR was in need of his last start over 1200m at the Vaal. His penultimate run when second over 1100m catches the eye. He takes a slight drop-in class and if putting his best foot forward, he should be competitive. He is carded to race on 29 June 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored. 

CIVIL PRINCESS ran a fair race in her last start over 1000m on the Inside course. The daughter of Daniel Boone steps up to the 1160m and if finding the form of her debut run, she should run a big race. 

INVENTRIX followed up her maiden win with a good second-place finish over 1200m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. She is in a good space and with Calvin Habib in the saddle, she should run a big race. 

Race 5

MERCANTOUR was running on when second over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Var will love the extra 160m on offer and he should notch up his sixth career victory. 

ROLLWITHTHEPUNCHES showed signs of needing his comeback run when behind the top choice last time. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. The son of Act Of War will strip much fitter and he should be hard to peg back. 

KISS ME CAPTAIN raced from a prominent position in the Grade 2 WSB Camellia Stakes last time, but found one too good in the form of Cold Fact. She is in a good space and with just 54.5kgs on her back, she should give the males a run for their money. 

Race 6

FLOWERBOMB stayed on at the finish over this distance at the Vaal last time, but found one too good in the form of Trompie. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. Despite carrying top weight, she should be the one to beat in this line-up. 

CONSTABLE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. 

BIG EYED GIRL showed good guts when winning her last start over 1200m on the Inside course. She finished 0.75 lengths behind the top selection in her penultimate start. She is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. 

Race 7

MISS SHAIVI got the upper hand late when winning her maiden over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville turf track. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of What A Winter takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

MABONENG was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is carded to race on 29 June 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored. 

FUR BABY‘S last three starts have been fair. She continues to drop-in the ratings and takes a drop-in class. If jumping on terms, she may be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

SILVANO‘S SONG over raced in the early stages of his last start over 2000m on the Inside course and did not go on with the effort. He finished third in his only attempt on this course. The son of Silvano takes a drop-in class and from his good draw of three, he may be the one to beat. 

NAPOLEON ran on well when second over this distance at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and with luck in running, he should pose a threat. 

FREE MOVEMENT won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over 1400m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He does take on stronger, but is in a good space and can earn another cheque
