Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: WIND WATER (2)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: J A Janse v Vuuren

WIND WATER has produced three good efforts to date. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was carried inwards in the final 200m. He is having his peak run and with Keagan de Melo back in the saddle, he should be the horse to beat.

Race 2: WINTER MUSE (13)
Jockey: S Khumalo – Trainer: J Soma

WINTER MUSE produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on the Inside course. She raced from a prominent position and stayed on nicely to finish second behind Asiye Phambili who has come out and won again since. She returns from a 12-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and if not in need of the run, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

Race 4: WILLOW’S WISH (6)
Jockey: C Habib – Trainer: S Tarry

WILLOW’S WISH produced a decent comeback run over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. He should have finished closer that day as his pilot dropped his reins at the 100m mark. He will strip a much fitter horse today and can return to winning ways.

Race 5: FUTURE PEARL (7)
Jockey: C Habib – Trainer: S Tarry

FUTURE PEARL followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1600m on the Vaal Classic course. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. He looks to have ability and can notch up the hat-trick. He is carded to race on 15 December 2022 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 6: NAMAQUA BLOSSOM (6)
Jockey: J P v’d Merwe – Trainer: M Houdalakis

NAMAQUA BLOSSOM was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1800m at the Vaal. She will love the step up to 2000m. She does take a big step up in class, but she may be ahead of the handicapper and with just 52kgs on her back, she should be up to the task at hand
