Race 1

HERE WITH ME showed very good improvement when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1450m. The son of Coup De Grace is a progressive type and he can win in this type of field.

MAJESTIC TOUCH was in need of his debut effort over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He found plenty of betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. It must be noted that the horse that finished third has come out and won since. He would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement.

THE FRONT LINE ran a fair race on debut over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the second and third horses have come out and won since. He would have gained from the experience and should make the natural progression.

Race 2

LADY FALLON produced a promising debut effort over 1200m. She took time to find her feet, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. The daughter of Act Of War would have come on from the run and will enjoy the step up in distance. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.

WUGUG was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She tries the 1450m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should pose a threat.

SHILPA’S MOON rallied late when second over 1600m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If repeating that effort, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

PIED KINGFISHER ran a fair race when taking on winners in his last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. He should have finished closer that day as he hung outwards in the final 200m. The son of What A Winter will love the rise to the mile and should be cherry-ripe. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

WE ARE THE LOGANS ran a good race when third over this distance at Turffontein last time. The son of Flying The Flag is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.

HOLOCENE lost two lengths leaving the start last time, but stayed on nicely to finish fourth. He has been gelded which may have done the trick. If jumping on terms, he should run a big race.

Race 4

VANDERBILT set the pace over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time and found extra where it matters most to hold all challengers at bay. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. He is carded to race on 03 June 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

DUKE OF SUSSEX was running on when fourth over 1450m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is unbeaten from three starts over this C&D and can keep that record intact.

INDLAMU is better than his last start in the Grade 2 WSB 1900m. His form prior to that outing was consistent. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

Race 5

TIRPITZ was an easy winner of his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He took the lead at the 200m mark and quickened away from the opposition. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and if keeping on a straight line, he can follow up.

BATTLEGROUND is better than his last start in the Listed Derby Trial. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. He is the stable elect with Craig Zackey up and from his good draw of four, he should give a good account of himself.

TIZONA ran on strongly when winning his last start over 1450m on this course. He takes another rise in class, but may still be ahead of the handicapper and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 6

AXEL COLLINS finished 1.5 lengths behind CAPTAIN DIZZY last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and can notch up his third career victory.

CAPTAIN DIZZY is unbeaten from three starts for the Barend Botes and Yolandie Vosloo stable. He has won both of his efforts over this C&D. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siyanda Sosibo which will help his chances.

BRONCO BLITZ produced a typical second run after a rest last time. He finished 3.75 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 7

This is a weak Merit Rated 76 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is WHATYOUWAITINGFOR from the Sean Tarry stable. She ran a fair race when taking on stronger company in her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. She finished second in her only attempt on this course. The daughter of Canford Cliffs continues to drop in the ratings and from her good draw of three, she can return to winning ways.

FUR BABY’S last two starts have been fair. She found betting support in her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She drops in the ratings and should be involved in the fight to the finish.

SHE’S A RAINBOW ran a fair race when taking on stronger in her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She drops in class and is having her peak run. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should run into the money.

Race 8

BOM BOM held on where it matters most when winning his last start over this C&D. The son of Ideal World takes on stronger, but he is progressive and has plenty of scope. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and from his midfield draw, he should have a say.

MABONENG was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1600m. Her three runs prior to that outing were good. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts on this course. Her last victory came under Keagan de Melo and from pole position, she should be the first female past the post.

SPEECHMAKER dead-heated for first when making the trip to KZN last time. She finished 4.25 lengths behind the second choice, three runs ago. Marco van Rensburg has opted to ride her over GIMME THE FLAME who he normally rides. She is in a good space and must be included in all bets
