Kaizer Chiefs suffered a defeat in their opening match going down 1-0 on the road at Royal AM. They had started the match as 14/10 favourites and Kaizer Chiefs fans must be wondering if another season of disappointment lies ahead.
Maritzburg United opened their campaign with a 1-1 home draw against Sekhukhune. The visitors had taken the lead in the 15th minute only for Maritzburg to equalise with 5 minutes to go.
Kaizer Chiefs did the double over Maritzburg United last season winning 2-0 at home and 1-0 on the road.

Kaizer Chiefs should be playing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd and although disappointed to have lost their opener against Royal AM they will fancy their chances against Maritzburg United that didn’t impress in their opening fixture of the season.

AMAZULU v SUPERSPORT UNITED
AmaZulu opened their campaign with a goalless draw away at TS Galaxy and SuperSport United also got a point in their opening fixture drawing 1-1 at home to Chippa United.
SuperSport United beat AmaZulu 2-0 at home last season, but the AmaZulu home fixture was a goalless draw. Amazingly the last 10 head-to-head fixtures between these sides have had 2 goals or less in them and that certainly explains the price of 13/8 available on over 2.5 goals.

STELLENBOSCH v ORLANDO PIRATES
Stellenbosch opened their season with a goalless draw away at Marumo Gallants. A number of people quietly fancy Orlando Pirates to challenge Sundowns for the title this season and they opened their account with a 1-0 home win over Soweto rivals Swallows, a game where they started 8/10 favourites.
Orlando Pirates won this fixture 3-0 last season and the sides drew 2-2 at Pirates.
