BettingDiaryThe British Grand Prix takes place at the Silverstone race track this weekend and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.

Max Verstappen secured his 3rd victory in a row and his team’s 5th in succession when winning the Austrian Grand Prix two weeks back. In doing so he completed the clean sweep in the race having also got pole position and recording the fastest lap. He was followed to the line by Bottas with Lando Norris completing the podium and Lewis Hamilton finishing in 4th.

Verstappen has now opened up a 32 point lead at the top of the Drivers standings and he has now firmed into a short price favourite at 1/4 to win the Championship with Hamilton on offer at 28/10.

The Red Bull team is also flying high in the Constructor’s Championship and is a short as 1/5 to win that with Mercedes 33/10, their only market rivals.

Last year’s British Grand prix was won by Hamilton who finished just under 6 seconds ahead of Verstappen with Charles Leclerc completing the podium in his Ferrari. Hamilton won his first British Grand Prix as far back as 2008 and he has won 6 of the last 7 times he has competed in his home Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen 15/20

Lewis Hamilton 7/4

Valtteri Bottas 12/1

Sergio Perez 15/1

50/1 and better the balance

Suggested Bet: Max Verstappen win at 15/20

Hamilton has a great record at the British Grand Prix, but Verstappen was runner-up last year and he is clearly in the form of his life. It would be surprising were this was not to be a two horse race and what sways me towards Verstappen is also the money back promotion at World Sports Betting where should he run 2nd we can get our stake back in free bets.

Suggested Bet: Lando Norris Podium at 11/4

Norris has been consistent this season and in his last 5 races he had 2 podiums and three 5th place finishes this season. One of those podiums came last time out in Austria and he looks well placed for a good run in his home GP.
