Race 1

THE MIGHTIEST showed good improvement in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She ran on well, before getting caught late by Lady My Lady. The daughter of Captain Of All jumps from pole position with Phelisile Mongqawa in the saddle. She is a progressive type and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

SHES EVERYTHING challenged strongly over 1450m on this course last time. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

HEARTS ON FIRE showed improvement when third over 1600m on this course last time. She should have no issues with the rise to 1800m and she may have more to come.

Race 2

KALEESH CYBORG stumbled leaving the start in a competitive maiden over 1160m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. His form prior to that outing was good. The son of Global View steps up to 1800m and he may be the one to side with.

BEYNAC has decent form lines to his credit. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1800m. If getting away to a clean start, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

SANTIAGO‘S PRIDE was outrun late over 2300m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He gets the cheekpieces fitted and if keeping on a straight line, he should be competitive.

Race 3

SILVANO‘S SONG was an easy winner in his stable debut over 2000m at Turffontein. The manner in which he quickened up and drew clear was eye-catching. He received a seven-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Silvano is in a good space and can follow up with another victory. He is carded to race on 16 January 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

ONLY A POET fought hard when second over this C&D last time. He finished 6.4 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

FLAG BEARER was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1800m on this course. He finished 4.25 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 4

MOUNT ETNA is better than her last start in the Listed 4Racing War Of Athena Handicap. She was an easy winner of her penultimate run over this C&D. The daughter of Erupt drops back in class and from pole position, may be the one to beat.

HAT‘S QUEEN has consistent form lines to her credit. She finished 3 lengths behind the top selection in her penultimate run. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

ONE RELIGION stayed on when second in the Non-Black Type Sun Chariot Handicap last time. She has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this trip. She runs well for Diego De Gouveia and merits healthy respect.

Race 5

SNEAK PREVIEW finished 0.5 lengths behind FREE IN SEATTLE last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Her last victory came over this distance. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and in this field, she can return to winning ways.

FREE IN SEATTLE stayed on when second over 1800m last time. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts on this course. Muzi Yeni does duty and the combination merit healthy respect.

SILKY JET ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. She was reported to be not striding out that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. She jumps from a good draw of two and can show.

Race 6

EIGER SANCTION is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. He returns from a 13-week break which would have done him the world of good. Muzi Yeni knows him well and if fit, he should win a race of this nature.

LUTHULI was disappointing in his last start over 1700m. He won his only attempt over this C&D. It is encouraging that Piere Strydom keeps faith in the ride and he is one of the leading contenders.

ON TARGET challenged strongly over 1600m on this course last time, but found one too good in the form of Princeofgreen. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 7

SUPER AWESOME ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. He took the lead at the 150m mark before getting outrun late by New Mexico. He has won twice and finished third once from five starts on this course. He is carded to race on 16 January 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

CORRUPT ran on strongly when winning on debut over 1160m at Turffontein. He returns from a 27-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. He could be anything and can remain unbeaten.

DIWALI ROCKET quickened up well when winning his last start over 1800m at Turffontein. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. If not in need of the run, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 8

INAFIX is better than his last start over this distance. He returns from a 16-week break which may have done him the world of good. He won his penultimate outing over this C&D. He runs well for Philasande Mxoli and if not in need of the outing, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

DANCING DORA has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She has won three times and finished second twice from nine starts on this course. She is carded to race on 16 January 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

JET CAT ran a fair race over 1000m last time. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
