All Racing Tips w/c 21st September

At the moment Scottsville on Monday is still on though forecast I saw said more rain possible this afternoon and ground already soft. Will take a look and post anything a bit later this morning.

Rest of the week shapes up as follows, looking forward to Saturday, great meeting at Durbanville.

Tuesday 22nd September - Vaal
Wednesday 23rd September Durbanville
Thursday 24h September Greyville (poly)
Friday 25th September Fairview and Greyville
Saturday 26th September Durbanville (including Grade 3 Diana Stakes and Matchem Stakes and the listed Settlers Trophy)

Scottsville Monday, playing around these 

Race 4 Turbo Twenty at 10/1. Has a good record in the wet, drawn 1 and has won at the track before 
Race 5 Down By The River at 9/2. Good effort returning from a break in a similar race last time out. Handles the conditions and proven over c & d 
Race 6 Gorgeous Guy at 14/1. Down in class and MR has also been dropping. Late jockey change with 4kg claimer taking more weight off. 
Race 7 Eric’s Legacy at 9/2. Although Fire Chief is weighted to turn form around with the selection Ericc’s Legacy was returning from a lengthy absence last time out and is taken to go in again.

On to the Vaal on Tuesday, quite a few scratchings on the card and I'm a little short of inspiration but will play around these.

Race 3 Fire In Her Soul at 3/1. Now 1 point lower than last winning mark
Race 7 Palace Attack at 9/4. 3 point rise for win at Turffontein 10 days ago seems fair and Lerena on bard again
Race 9 Me And You at 18/10. Looked useful as a juvenile and could prove to be a cut above this level.

Vaal Tuesday

Race 2 - Destiny's Dream (17/2 e/w) - Drops back to 1200m, form line of last run holding up well. 

Race 8 - Titan Of The Turf (4/1) positive weight swing with Vibe SA and Antonio Gaudi. 4 points down in rating after a good 4th behind Charming Cheetah recently. Rated by the stable and racing fit. 

OK day at the Vaal with 2 from 3, trying these Wednesday at Durbanville


Race 1 Eyecatcher at 7/1. Has been off 213 days but was backed on debut and wasn’t far off what has subsequently proved to be some above average horses. Beware some nicely bred newcomers and other with form but could be worth a small play.
Race 7 Captains Alliance at 28/10. 456 days since last win but super consistent and knocking hard.
Race 8 Fort Yukon at 4/1. C&D winner back up to the mile after going close from a wide draw over shorter last time. Draw could have been kinder but looks a player again

No joy on Wednesday, trying these on the poly at Greyville on Thursday

Race 3 Treasure Island at 11/2. Consistent sort, was just touched off in a similar race on penultimate run on this surface
Race 4 One Path at 33/10. Ticks a few boxes and looks a big runner even though the draw could have been kinder
Race 6 Littleblackgem at 5/1. Would have needed latest when reported coughing, mark has been sliding
Race 7 Seven No Trump at 7/2. Third run since relocating and has been taking on stronger

Greyville Polytrack Thursday

Race 2 - The Wolf (13/2) 1 win and 4 stake cheques over C&D. Gets the services of in-form apprentice Mosaheb. Swingers with Record High (12/1) who actually holds The Wolf on a run over C&D back in December. SW 7x10

Race 4 - Clouds Clearing (17/2 e/w) backed this one two weeks ago at Turffontein. Dropped another 3 points in rating after that run. Was pulled out of the race and subsequently disqualified in only run on this surface. He surely won't be making the trip down to the coast to see the beach! Jason Gates retaining the ride another big plus.

Race 5 - Open race, but Hammer Blow (28/10) brings strong Gauteng form behind the likes of Catfish and Trompe L'Oeil to the race. Only win was over this distance and earned a stake cheque in each other run over 1000m

Race 7 - Qhawekazi (3/1) - Enjoys the surface. Had excuses in last start when carried out. Might get better odds closer to the off.

Race 8 - Money for Golden Diogo (13/1 in to 17/2). First run as gelding, was heavily supported in 2nd start when still a colt. Royale Jacket (1/1) a big danger but having his 29th attempt to break his maiden.  Narrowly beaten in only start on this surface. Form line of last run when second to Mirum held up well with Imyourhuckleberry beating 7l winner, One Eye On Dubai, subsequently and Mirum earning a stake cheque in both post-maiden runs. Also not here for a walk on the beach. SW/Box EX 5x8

Double header on Friday, both pretty interesting cards in my book and quite a few I like.

Fairview (poly)
Race 1 Alesian Beau at 33/10. Was backed last time when return from a break, form of that race has been franked and Zackey takes the ride.
Race 2 Tipsy at 4/1. Hasn’t been too far off in most of her 7 races to date, usually from a wide draw, should be involved
Race 4 Saboteur at 2/1, Ran 2nd to a progressive sort last time, renews rivalry with Rock Me Mama who has a wide gate to contend with
Race 5 Blue Palace at 10/1. 450 days since last win but has hot the post a couple of times and could pop up from gate 1 after mark eased slightly
Race 6 Nelson Bay at 10/1 Hasn’t placed in 5 races since a good comeback run in April but is eased in grade now
Race 8 Kwagga Blitz at 5/2. Drops in class, excellent 2nd on local debut returning from a long break last time out. Has won on the poly in KZN

Greyville coming up right now

Friday's Greyville (turf meeting) picks and pointers

Race 2 Showgirl at 28/10. 3rd run back from a lengthy absence, should be 100% now, promising earlier in career, up in trio should not be an issue
Race 3 Jazz Café at 14/1. Has been running over much further in top company but is 2 from 4 over this c&d and tops the best weighted column.
Race 5 Red Dawn at 2/1. First race since relocating from WCP, mark has been dropping
Race 6 Miss Twinkle at 3/1. Might just have a slight fitness edge on a couple of market rivals and 3 from 3 this track and trip
Race 7 Song To The Moon at 4/1. Rating has been easing and holds a few of these on collateral form
Race 8 Star Of The Future at 25/2 (each way) . Was beaten less than a length on most recent turf run in a similar contest. Finished that race of well and an extra 200m to go here.
